Halloween for adults

We were invited to a costume birthday party for a 30 year old youngster and I am just now realizing I took no pictures of really anything other than these 2 pics.  Thankfully Jill had made these cute costumes for she and Kenneth so I borrowed and it was a cinch!
Loved our little costumes!

We were excited to see Paul and Janie so we took this to send to our mutual friends, the Shirleys!  Andre in the background photo bombing!

Garth and Trisha=yes

Can I just say that the Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood concert was the best I have ever been to?  I mean it was AWESOME!  We've been looking forward to it since our Bunkie trip and it did not disappoint.  We went with Brett & Anna and Chris & Sarah.  Anna's 2 friends, Chris & Andolyn joined us.

We ate at Tejas and it took a sweet forever, making us arrive at 7:30 for the 7pm concert.  We had to park all the way down the parkway not in the parking lot.  This was going to make us even more late!  And then the heavens opened up and a Stretch Hummer Limo drove up to us.  I flagged them down and asked for a ride.  He said YES so we all jumped in!  He took us right to the front.

My sign= :)  I'm not lying..her mac and cheese is fabulous.

Get it, Garth!

I love Garth and Trisha!

Catherine let me borrow her "I've got friends in low places" t-shirt.  YES!

This picture must have been right after Garth called me out about my poster and I was on the Jumbo-tron.
No Big Deal.
Just kidding!  It was a huge deal! I was so freaking excited!  I got numerous texts and calls about being on the Jumbo-tron.  And when I say numerous it was like 3!  Wooohooo! #famous

Egg Hunt-Kindergarten Style!

In kindergarten you don't just go to school and hunt any old egg...you have to learn while filling your basket!  Each child was given an egg carton with the words Happy Easter written inside.  They had to find eggs with these letters to fill their carton.  It makes it last longer and is lots of fun!

so glad Neil was able to pop by for a minute

Dinner Date

SK is finally getting to the age where I am ready to leave her and the boys at home.  Mama hasn't had 1 night away since her birth!  Mama is tired!

We used to get a weekly date night and now it's just so hard.  It's hard to find someone who will keep all 3 besides my mom.  When she works, there's really no one else.  But, she offered on Friday night and we were beyond thrilled!  I was waiting in the car!

We had a nice dinner at The Cub and then headed to Sam's to purchase all the stuff for the church pig roast.  What a fun date night!

Date Night!

Since Neil had to work out of town the week before Christmas and for 8 days beginning the day after Christmas, we decided to have special date night.  It was so hard to not have Neil at home for 8 days.  We missed him terribly!  When Neil told me to get a sitter and reservations at The Mabry House I had it all scheduled in about 5 minutes!  He called me the next day to let me know that we would have to move the reservation up due to the Saints playoff game.  Done and done.  Lots of people at the restaurant did the same as us!

Before dinner, I had a little "me time" so Neil could see the boys.  I had a facial and it was so relaxing!

Here we are at the Mabry House...already booked our Valentine's Day meal!

We really just wanted to go home to watch the game, but didn't feel like it was worth our sitter's time for us to only be gone 2 hours.  We headed to Zocolo and ran into Jenny and her date.  They asked us to join them so we did.  Amy and Daniel met us up there too!  It turned out to be tons of fun!

Date night/Brew night

Our church had Parent's Night Out on Friday night.  We love that our church does this for the parents.  We love going out on a date with no guilt of leaving our kids with our parents.  We decided to go to Abby Singer's in the Robinson Film Center for dinner.  We even got to sit outside on the balcony.  The highlight of the dinner besides the company was the live music playing below on the street.  We had a nice man playing the trombone and yelling nonsense for only about 20 minutes.

Live entertainment...and it was FREE!

After our date, we headed to the usual Friday night brewing over at the Beville's house.  We arrived just in time to get new Red River Brew Co. t-shirts.  The Shreveport Times interviewed them about 10 minutes before we got there.  We even got to see the beta model of their new, fancy website.  They are doing this thing well!!
Jared putting the water in the pot...I am sure there is a technical name for this, but I just don't know.

Checking levels and looking mighty serious while doing it.

Robert, Jared, and Beau....yaaaaaaay Red River!

Neil and I even got to pretend to help!

I am pretty sure I am helping with the hops.

We are thrilled that Shreveport will have its first craft beer brewery and we know the insiders!!  Can't wait to help promote this great venture!

Date Night, Done Right

My mom asked if we wanted to have a date night and of course we said YES!  We chose Saturday night for dinner.  We decided to try a new place called, Stir.  It is a new tapas place in town in the old Columbia Cafe'.

The best part about our date at Stir was definitely the company.  So glad we were there together!  Our date wasn't anything out of the ordinary...it was just fun to be together!

We decided to be spontaneous and head to Mabry House for dessert and an after dinner beverage.  I am so glad Neil came up with that idea!  It was a great one.

Staycation

My mom did us the biggest favor ever by keeping the boys over night so we could have a night away.  It was my first time to be away from Henry overnight and I did great!  Thanks so much to Tina for donating one of your casino rooms to us for the evening!  We had a great time eating dinner, talking, and just spending time together.  Can't wait for the next time we get to have a night off.

When we sat down to dinner Neil said "I feel like we are cheating on our kids!"  Those feelings quickly passed when they took us to our table.  One of my favorite things about eating at this steakhouse is they have light-up menus.  Little things amuse me.

Here we are after dinner...

We went across the way from the restaurant to the casino bar to hear the band.  They said that it was going to start around 9 so we decided to wait and hear them.  Then they said it would start at 9:30 and then 10... long story short...we couldn't stay awake until 10!  It was just waaaaaaay past our bedtime!  It's funny because back in college we didn't even think about going out until midnight.  Times have changed for us that's for sure!

We were excited that Tina got us a late checkout so we ordered room service for breakfast and just lounged around until we decided to go home.  It was so nice to get away to re-charge our batteries.  We loved it so much!!!

Date Night!

Neil and I started our weekly date night with a romantic trip to the doctor.  I had my 4 week appointment and my sugar test.  I am always so glad that Neil meets me at all of my appointments.

Since I am a true blogger and I love to document everything, I had Neil take my picture drinking the sugary drink.  I look a little like a weird-o in the picture, but you get the idea.  I got it all down in 4 1/2 minutes before my 5 minute time limit was up!

We headed back to the doctor for my check-up.  I had a great report, but I am disgusted with my HUGE weight gain.  I need to seriously lay off the Reese's eggs.  We went to the lab to sit around and wait for them to take blood.  You have to wait an hour from the time you drink to the time you have blood drawn.  Apparently I have tiny, hard to find veins because they can never get me on the stick!  Thankfully, Neil was there to hold my had through the pain.  They stuck my arm and the vein blew.  I already have an ugly bruise.  She was able to get me on my hand.  When we left, Neil said I looked like an American Gladiator with my hand and arm wraps!

This is what my arms looks like 5 days after the needle!

After the doctor, we headed to Lowes to pick out some flowers for the front and back yards.  Neil has become slightly obsessed with our yard.  He says that our grass is the worst on the street.  I never noticed until he mentioned it and pulled the Google earth pictures.  Everyone else has lush, green grass and we have a brown patchy yard.  We have even had Green Works spray!  Hopefully we will get it under control soon.

For dinner, we ate at Moe's.  We then hurried home to meet Gammy and Bennett to wait out the tornadoes!  All in all it was a good night!

Date Night!

We had a great time on our date night.  We went to Cush's and Wal-Mart.  Mom instituted a date night for us a while back.  She offered to keep Bennett every Tuesday so Neil and I could have time together!  It is so sweet of her to do that.  Thanks, Mom!

Date Night!

Neil and I had a really fun date night tonight. We went to Painting with a Twist. I got Neil to go because the painting was a Saints flag. Since we didn't need 2 Saints flags...I made one for my classroom!

Here we are with our blank canvases.

Coming along...Neil asked if we were the "Captain Shreve Dinosaurs!"

Neilangelo (as he called himself) did such a great job!

Here we are at the end of the class. I think they turned out pretty cute!
Can't wait for our next date night!!
