Weekend Delights

Neil and I joined Aunt Becky, Grandad, and Nana for Artober Fest in Ruston last Friday.  It was fun and they actually had something I could enjoy...home brewed root beer!  We are lucky that our babysitter moved to Ruston and was able to keep the boys.

We went to Gators and Friends for William's birthday on Sunday.  Bennett totally picked out his own outfit.

We were supposed to go out to the camp to watch the Saints game but we had to cancel it due to weather.  Nana, Grandad, Pops, Gammy, and the Bakers all came over for dinner and the game.  We got to light the jack o' lantern that evening!  Grandad loves ears and eyebrows on his pumpkins.

Revel 2013

We did everything we could at the Red River Revel this year.  It is my absolute favorite festival!  The boys shopped, ate, dug, and got their faces painted.  It was a fun afternoon.

I was glad Amy went with us, but was sad we forgot to get a group picture!

They boys LOVE the grocery shopping.

Our checker checked out EVERYTHING.

Bennett wanted a Batman bat, but the painter couldn't do it.  So, I did!  She asked me "do you paint for a living!?"  Neil said it looked like a sting ray.

Bennett had a blast on the bungee trampoline.

He did a couple flips and then he was ready to stop the bungee.  Sweet boy!

Arboretum in fall

All I can say is WOW when I think about the Arboretum during the fall.  I've been one other time and it was a scorcher!  We had fun, but I think I like fall the best.

Brett and Anna have a family membership so they took us with them.  It was so nice!  It was a tad chilly since it had been raining, but that meant the crowds stayed away.  Our first stop was hot chocolate and coffee for all parties.  You will notice it on the boys' clothes in the pictures.

How cool are these pumpkin huts?

My little pumpkin!

love this one!

Our next stop was the new adventure garden for kids.  I could have seen us spending about 5 more hours here.  We only had about 1 hour but it was worth it!  We all loved it!

This tree house has nets you could climb on!

They (we) all loved the water guns!

These were the creepy people who loved Henry.  I was getting the stroller and bags together and walked up to Neil saying "Oh, y'all want a picture with him?"  I was like "WHAT?"  They took a picture with their own camera and I snapped one and grabbed Henry.  He was saying "mommy...ehhh."   Dear Indian Lady, do not take pictures with random American children.

Bennett went to sleep in the turtle shell.

More Perot Museum

I am so sad that Bennett decided to pop a key off my school laptop and shove it in to where my camera card goes...so all my pictures are from my phone.  Not the best quality, but you get the idea.

After the Children's area we headed to the sports hall.  This was really neat.  This wall lights up as you run your hand/body on it.  They loved it!

My handsome boys were loving this!
Next, we the racing game.  You could select an opponent like a cheetah or T-rex, or a human to race.  We waited in line for this for about 20 minutes.  Bennett was so excited to race!  He chose a male soccer player.
It counts you down and then you RUN!  He was so upset that he didn't win.  Winning isn't everything!

Bennett and the T-Rex

The boys got to stand on the Earthquake simulator.  Bennett didn't like it, but H did!

Neil and Bennett got to ride the "drilling" ride.  It showed how far you go down in the earth to drill a well.  Henry and I had our own fun since he wasn't able to ride.

Hen kept watching people open this geode and knew he had to try it.  A little girl was taking a sweet forever with it and after waiting patiently Henry said "my turn!" "my turn!"

We got to crawl in a log!

They had different wilderness scents you could smell.  This is Bennett after smelling the coyote urine!

Outside the Perot was a "leap frog" pond.  They. Loved. This!
