Dallas Girl's Weekend

I feel like I got so much accomplished on my day weekend.  I worked so hard on lesson plans, grocery shopped, made 3 meals for our week, and even went to Dallas!

We had a nice time.  Leslie opened up her posh apartment to us once again.  We were so excited that Casey flew in to meet us from Denver.  She is such a jet-setter!
Here we are at our first restaurant of the trip..Fernando's Mexican restaurant

We stayed up until 2 am talking!  I haven't stayed up that late since the early 2000s. Since everyone agreed that we should all sleep in...we didn't wake up until 8:30-8:45!  It was great to sleep and then take a quick shower to get ready for our action packed day.  Breakfast on Saturday was great.  I dined on a red velvet pancake and cheese grits.  We had a 45 minute wait so breakfast was sort of an early lunch.

cute breakfast place...Odddfellows
We headed to the Dallas Aborteum after breakfast to see the Chihuly exhibit.  It was some pretty fancy blown glass.  I am no stranger to Chihuly since I've seen his work in Vegas and the Bahamas at Atlantis.  It's amazing what he can do with some glass.  Erinn is going to teacher a lesson on Chihuly so she got some great photos for her PowerPoint.

After a whirlwind day of shopping, going to the Pearl Cup, Zoe's Kitchen, and Mockingbird station...we got to rest at Leslie's for a couple hours.  We got ready for our dinner and headed to Meddlesome Moth. It was such a cool restaurant.  They had lots of tasting plates so we all got to share.

We ate: Lobster Poutine, Bacon lollipops, pork belly, salads, and moth balls. Delish.

After dinner we went to the movie at 10 pm!  I know what you are thinking..."How did you stay up?" I don't know, but I did!  We went to see "Hope Springs" and it was OK.  It had a great ending.
Farewell breakfast at Breadwinner's where I look like death.

Can't wait until next time!  Maybe we will go to another fancy city next time.  Denver???

  1. you thought hope springs was only ok??? i thought is was one of the funniest movies i've ever seen! but then again, i've been on that "side" of a marriage and can now look back and laugh. matt and i were the youngest in the movie theater, by far, and the whole audience was rolling laughing. he was really mad a me for dragging him there at first but he agreed that it was a pretty funny movie! probably more "guy humor" which i tend to like. anyway, i'm rambling now! looks like a fun trip! happy labor day!
