Breakfast

We had a Professional Development Day this week and I didn't have to be at school until 8:30.  I thought "let's go do a family breakfast!"  We went to McDonald's and made some memories.  Bennett found an "H" for H week and asked if we could take the picture to Mrs. Elgin!

I got to take Bennett to school and when I pulled up...it was See you at the Pole day! ha!  The principal ran out and asked me to turn around.  All I can do is laugh at my 1 day to walk Bennett in to his class!

Loving parfaits!

Wheeler Dealer

My husband is the best wheeler dealer around.  He can trade and get people down off their prices like no one else!

There is a guy doing some work on one of the trailers and he wanted $____ for the work.  Neil said "is there anything you want that you would trade for the work?"

He said "a John Deere riding lawn mower."

Well, Neil scoured Craig's List and found a like new one!  They people wanted $____ and Neil offered $_____.  The guy doing the work is thrilled about his new lawn mower!  He said his wife said "do you think my tractor's sexy?" ha!

Anyway, the mower is at our house until Neil delivers it to the guy.  Neil decided to take the boys and me for a spin around the yard on it a couple days ago.  It is fast!

First Priority's Gala For Hope

We had the Gala For Hope again this year.  It was a ton of fun!  We hardly knew anyone but it is for a good cause.  Read more about it here.  The speaker was Chris Reis, the Saints player who recovered the on-side kick in the 2009 Super Bowl.  They showed a little highlight reel and Neil was tearing up and his heart was beating extra fast!  hahahaha!  He loved it.

I found out later that Chris had come to our FP meeting at school...I had to leave because I had a dr. appt!  Darn, could have met him!!

Never a Dull Moment

Neil e-mailed me this morning to let me know that Henry's school called and said "he probably needs stitches!"  WHAT!????  By the time I received the e-mail and a text, Neil had already picked him up and arrived at Velocity Care while I am sitting at work not having a clue about my baby.  It really bothers me that his school doesn't even call me anymore because they know I won't answer!  Not their fault when they NEED to get in touch with someone ASAP.

I freaked out a tiny bit and sent an e-mail to the principals asking if they could get someone to cover my class so I could head over to Velocity Care. Finally someone came over the intercom and said a teacher was on his way.  So glad!
Henry on the way to Velocity Care.  My baby!

By the time I arrived, he was happy, glued, and playing with a car.  Neil told me had everything handled, but I just felt like I needed to be there.  I got him a juice and he couldn't have been happier!

Such a good daddy to handle life's bumps and bruises!

glued shut!

Bennett's Hair Cut

They say every kids does it...and he did!  Bennett cut his hair on Friday evening.  We got home and the boys were playing with combs and it seemed harmless.  We kept noticing hair all over Bennett's shirt, but I just thought it was from all that combing.

Neil finally said "what is all this hair all over you, Bennett?"  Bennett said "I just cut it!"

"WHAT!"

Us: "Where did you cut your hair?"
Bennett: "Just in my bathroom and under the table and all over my head."
Us: (trying not to laugh) "What do you mean all over your head?"
Bennett: "I did it like Sarah, my haircut girl!"

He basically picked up piece from all over his head and just cut!  I found a huge mound of beautiful blonde hair under the kitchen table.  Neil found a little lock in a chair and brought it to me.  So sad, but so, so funny!

You can't really tell he even cut it unless you are really looking. His bangs are already thin.  He only cut the back thicker part.  You can see little lines where he cut further up on his head.

Family Friday

Since I am pregnant and the only thing that sounds good to me is Taco Bell, we went to dinner at T-bell on Friday.  We all like it and it work for my current state.  I mean why is Taco Bell my favorite thing while pregnant???  weird!

I love being with my people.

We went to Orange Leaf after because Bennett had a GREAT day at school.  Small victories.  We are so proud of him!

Weekend

While Neil was away enjoying his College Football Island trip, we were playing and resting.  Since I've been completely exhausted these days I asked Gammy to stay with us Friday and Saturday nights.  THANK GOD FOR GAMMY!  I literally couldn't tear myself out of pajamas or off the couch all day on Saturday.  It was so gross.  I can't stand being lazy, but I just didn't have any energy.  I tried to go outside for a few minutes, but was totally red faced and worn out I had to come in.  Gammy cooked and bathed and played!  She needs a weekend from her weekend!  Thank you, Gam Gam!  She even got Henry saying "Lauri!"  So. Darn. Cute.

I got up and was full of energy on Sunday.  We went to church, Taco Bell with the Buteaus, and then home for naps and cleaning.  I put the boys down (Bennett even took a nap!) and did some laundry, dishes, and took yet another nap.  It was NICE.  We just waited for Nana and Grandad to arrive on Sunday evening.  I am so glad they came to take the boys to school for me on Monday because I had 2 students coming to take tests on Monday at 7:40.  Thanks so much, Nana and Grandad!

Henry had to "color" because Bennett was!

Here's a glimpse into what Daddy was doing all weekend.  These pictures are what Trey sent to Erinn and Erinn sent to me.  I couldn't get any out of Neil!

I see one of my beach towels swinging from a tree!

Grandparent's Day 2013

We had Grandparent's Day yesterday to celebrate our "super" grandparents!  They are the best grandparents and we just had to let them know how much we love them.  Grandparent's Day isn't actually until next weekend, but Neil has his yearly camping trip so we scheduled it for Labor Day.  I am so glad we did!  I love having Labor Day to rest and relax and boy do I need it.

I whipped up these invites using my Cricut.  I think they turned out so cute!  I made each one have hair to match the person's hair that received it.  Becky's had a blond ponytail.

I've been so tired and exhausted I just couldn't make anything.  We ended up eating a trio of salads from Bistro to go and a cookie cake from TCBY. Talk about EASY.

I found these popcorn holders on Amazon and ordered them. The popcorn was the biggest hit. I am shocked at how much people like popcorn!

Bennett LOVED this year's theme.  He even helped me decorate.  He said "I think we need my Hulk piggy bank!"  He went and got it and placed it on the table.  Same with the Spiderman car.  Such a helpful big boy.

Super Pops and Super CC

I was so glad that Gigi and Grim drove over from Ruston to be there.

Gammy is so much fun.  Reid and Henry had a blast playing in the floor with her.

We wanted everyone to open their gifts at the same time.  Right as I said that my dad went to the bathroom. People were getting antsy to open their presents.  Bennett picked out some sweet Batman wrapping paper.

Janine had her pictures opened first and had no idea what she was looking at.  Rebecca happened to look over and see something extra special.  She gasped and went into the kitchen.  We really missed Grandad during all this excitement!
I think they were shocked at their gifts!

What is it?

Gigi didn't know what to think!

All the grandparents received pictures of their grandchildren/great-children.  Since it was a "super" theme, we gave them a 3 opening picture frame with a picture of each other their grandchildren and grandchild to be!  The pictures said "You. Are. Super!"

You guessed it!  We are expecting our 3rd baby in April 2014!  I am still very new pregnant...7 weeks tomorrow.  I am praying for a healthy baby and a smooth pregnancy.  I get to hear the heartbeat again on Wednesday!  We are thrilled!!!!!!!!!!  Neil was a little nervous to tell people so early, but I am of the mindset of you are either pregnant or not.  I love having the support of family and friends during this sweet, special time.
Carolyn has a picture of her grandkids, Reid and Dean.  I didn't think she'd want a picture of my sonogram!

Here is a close-up of the pics.  Bad pic, but you get the idea.
Henry was on his way to a nap when I snapped this pic.

Nana and Bennett.  She had just given him some $ for his bank!  Now I know why he put his bank on the table!
