Amy is engaged!

Amy is engaged!!!  Everyone (especially Amy!) has been waiting for this day and it finally happened!  Yay Daniel!!  He proposed!  I am so happy for Amy and Daniel...they are going to have so much fun spending their lives together.

Let the parties begin!  I can't wait to make Amy feel as special as she made me feel when I got married.  Yippee!!

I had to get over to her house as soon as she called to tell me the good news.  Too bad I looked like death.

Loving that BLING!

We already had dinner plans even before we knew about the proposal.  The NYE dinner turned into an engagement celebration dinner! yessssssssss!  Amy's parents came by restaurant to toast the fiances!  How sweet of them!
yay!

Yippee!

We felt so honored to be a part of this celebration.

New Year's Eve 2014

Since Neil worked all day on NYE we had to find something fun to do.  And we sure did!  We used our last day of our Sci-Port membership and celebrated the new year there.  We had no idea all the fun they had planned for NYE.  We met a couple of friends there for the fun.  We played in the children's area, made Kenyan drums for the parade, went to the balloon drop, and even had a 12 noon (instead of midnight) toast with Sprite! :)  It was so much fun!

I did not have Sarah Kathryn's stroller in the car for some reason...I don't know how because I never take it out.  Thankfully Wyatt's mom let us use hers.  My arm was about to fall off carrying my 20 pound girl!

Yay for a picture of all of us!

How fun!!!

After they fell, we popped them and found prizes in the balloons.  We got 1 free admission ticket! :)

This is Wyatt picking up Henry.  3 year olds love to pick up other 3 year olds!

Later that evening we went to the Kremeier's for some NYE familynfun.  We didn't stay long because we had to get to Amy's engagement dinner.  I wanted to celebrate with the kids a little bit before we did our adult thing.

Henry loved the hats

Sweetness in a tiara

I made cookies.  I wanted them to be glittery, but my home made edible glitter didn't work.  I didn't realize I had 8 colors of colored sugar in the pantry!
HAPPY 2015 from our crew!! (at least I got everyone in the picture, right?)

Bennett at age 6

Bennett is 6 years old!  I cannot believe we have a 6 year old.  These 6 years have really flown by.

I am going to tell a little about Bennett and then do his little interview...

Bennett is such a sweet, kind-hearted boy.

  • He is a quick learner and is thriving in kindergarten.  He is doing well learning to read, but we haven't gotten there yet.  Sight words are a breeze for Bennett.  When we have to write sentences for homework he gets really frustrated that he is going to spell something incorrectly no matter how many times I tell him it's ok! Conduct is absolutely fabulous. A+ almost every day with a few B's tossed in here and there. Fine with me because he does not have to be perfect!
  • Bennett is the best big brother!  I am talking BEST.  He will give SK her pacifier if she is crying, give her toys, talk to her, or just play to make her laugh.  Sweetest.  He is also a good brother to Henry...most of the time.  They argue like brothers do, though.  And they don't mind punching each other either.  But, Bennett will help Henry clean up messes, show him how to play games, and always plays with him.
  • Bennett is a wonderful athlete.  He loves to play football and baseball.  He does not like soccer.  He loves throwing and catching a football and can be seen carrying a football everywhere.  A couple weeks ago he took his ball on a walk with Gammy and dropped it down the drain.  Thankfully, Santa got a new one.  It amazes us how coordinated Bennett is considering neither Neil nor I have much coordination at all.
  • Bennett is a tough boy, but is also sensitive.  Since he is on medicine now, we have about 1-2 moody days per month, but other than that his bubbly personality shines.
  • Bennett is loving learning new games.  He is a master Uno player and loves other card games.
