Saturday Fun!

Neil went to a Dallas Mavericks game with Matthew and Trey today. The Mavericks are in the NBA in case you didn't know...I didn't! They left around noon for a night of fun! I got right in the kitchen and started cooking. I think I cooked for 5 solid hours sitting down only 1 time. I made the Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls and the best Lasagna recipe from Cotton Country Cookbook. Talk about an all day cooking marathon! I loved it though.

While I was cooking away, Max and Ann came over for a fun play date. I was sort of being a bad hostess because I was rolling out my cinnamon roll dough while they were here. I was glad that we were able to get the boys together.

I set up my table scape on Friday night and added the flowers today. I just love a good table scape! I think I get this quality from Sandra Lee. I used some left over fabric from the pillows on my bed and whipped it up. I actually got to use my ice beverage glasses for the 2nd time!

Mason and Georgia arrived with their moms and grandmothers. Gammy, Carol, and Leslie came over too. We had a great meal of Lasagna, salad, olive bread, and homemade king cake. Leslie always makes a wonderful Greek salad. Casey made the olive cheese bread from the Pioneer Woman's cookbook. And Erinn made the apple/cream cheese/pecan king cake.

The kids played and made us laugh before we ate. Mason drove Georgia and Bennett around on the 4 wheeler. We were glad that someone knew how to steer! Mason is such a big boy!

After dinner... Here are Carol, Mom, Donna, Leslie, and the back of Sally.

I was so glad that we were all able to get together. This is making me think I need to have my Mother/Daughter brunch again for Mother's Day!...with matching outfits!

I made these for each person to take home for their "party favor!" I used almond extract instead of maple extract for the frosting though.

Saints Game Fun!

It was so nice of the Buteaus to have us over the other night for the Saints vs. Vikings game. We had burgers and a bunch of other stuff. It was fun to see all the kids playing together.

We arrived with deviled eggs that turned out to not be deviled because we were out of relish. Oh well...Will try harder next time. Bennett and Georgia played together outside before the game started. All of the boys had to head straight to Ronnie's (Trey's man room that Neil would LOVE to have) to watch the game.

Bennett and Georgia

Georgia took Bennett for a spin in her pink Barbie jeep. She doesn't really like to push the pedal so Erinn walked beside it and pressed it!

Here's a family photo. We are all in our Saints gear cheering on the Saints! This has been one of the most exciting seasons yet!

Georgia, Mason, and Bennett were sort of blocking the game, but they were sure cute doing it!

Thanks for having us over Buteaus!

Side note: We are so excited for the Buteaus because they are expecting twins! This is such a wonderful miracle and shows us just how faithful our God is! Congrats Trey, Erinn, and Georgia!!

Neil's Deer

Ever since Erinn posted pictures of all of Trey's hunting stuff I thought I better do the same. Neil went on a hunting trip the day after Christmas to Eddie Barnes hunting camp. Neil, his dad, and Eddie had a great time. Neil ended up shooting a buck! He is having the antlers mounted...not the whole head. We now have a freezer full of meat! Anyone need any deer sausage?

Here's Neil with his deer.

Mystery Viral Rash Day 3

I am blogging when I should be doing my online class work. Oh well..nothing like procrastination.

We were so fortunate to have my mom (Gammy) keep Bennett on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and Janine (Nana) to keep him today and tomorrow. We have some very sweet grandmothers! Thanks y'all!

Bennett's rash seems to be getting better. Maybe. I thought it looked better on his little face. Now he has it on his legs. Yes, we have called to the doctor. They told us to get him some Benedryl but if it was a virus then it wouldn't even do anything. Argh! We gave it to him tonight and saw no results. I find myself not wanting him to be around anyone because I would just hate it if anyone stared at him in a weird way. I would probably be a little bit offended!

So here is our sweet boy with mystery his rash on Day #3.

I don't think he is too happy about the rash either!

We did get to go on a walk tonight because the weather was great. He really seemed to enjoy the fresh air.

It's always a virus!

Anytime that Bennett seems sick and we take him to the doctor...they always say that it is a virus. Now he has a viral rash! They say it is not contagious and he has no fever. Poor little boy! The doctor says that his rash looks WAY worse that it actually is. They say that there is nothing they can do though!

Poor angel boy! He isn't even acting sick.

Here is his back this morning.

His poor little head and arms. His right side looks worse than his left side.

Awwwww..

Poor baby! We have kept him home all week from daycare. Neil doesn't want to send him even though he isn't contagious. He doesn't want other parents to wonder why we would send our baby with such a rash. I think he is fine to go though. Please pray for this rash to go away sooner rather than later!

28 Years.

I turned 28 on Saturday. This has been a great year with lots of changes. I have gotten to see my baby do tons of new things and watch him as he discovers the world. We adjusted to life with a new-born and now a toddler. I was laid off from a job because our entire company closed. I started a Masters degree program and started an entirely new career as a teacher. We have made lots of new friends that have kids the same age as Bennett. It has been a busy but fun year.

Here are some photos from my birthday celebration weekend!

Neil and me at 2Johns restaurant in Bossier. It was a delicious meal with a really nice atmosphere.

We went with some of our friends. Out of each couple, 1 of the 2 have a birthday in January. It was like a celebration for all of us. Rebecca (SIL) came too but she was in the bathroom when we took this picture.

On my actual birthday 1/16, we went to Biscotti's, my totally favorite place for lunch. Amy organized the whole luncheon for me. Here she is with her mom and Bennett.

A birthday family photo.

Me, Erinn, and Leslie

My extremely wonderful homemade chocolate cheesecake that Rebecca made and decorated with my monogram. Thanks Stephen!

Dad sent me this edible arrangement to work on Friday. I was so surprised!

Ann and Max came to celebrate too! They were intrigued by each other.

And here is a group shot minus Lynsie and John. Here are Richard, Neil, Dad, Janine, Carolyn, Rebecca, Leslie, Erinn, Amy, Ann, Max, Tina, Carol, Casey, and Me with Bennett! (I am all about a group photo!)

A cute gift from Erinn.

Amy gave me the cutest pair of earrings. This picture is so not cute!

Leslie gave me the 1st book in the Mark of the Lion series. We are going to share them and read them together! I love a Francine Rivers book any day. She also gave me a framed picture of us with Travis Cottrell. It will be going on my desk tomorrow!

Nana and Bennett always have such a good time!
I really had a wonderful birthday celebration! After lunch, we saw that Lewis Gifts was having the best sale ever. Anything you could put in a bag for $15! My stuff totaled over $400! It was awesome!

We went home and Bennett took a 2 hour nap. Leslie came over to chat while Bennett slept. We went to the Raines house for the Saints game after the nap. All the kids looked so cute! Especially our boys in their Saints gear!

Supper Club-January

Supper club was pretty low key this month. We had 1 family that had swine flu, 1 with strep, and 1 with a project due! We ended at at the Smiths with 3 other families. It was a good time with lasagna, salad, and all the trimmings. Bennett was pretty much the only boy so there are lots of pictures with girls. The Smiths do have a boy, but he is 3 and much too cool to play with the 1 year olds! So...here are a bunch of pictures of Bennett playing with the girls! I think they are pretty cute!

Georgia and Bennett

Get out of that car, Bennett! Caroline was pushing him along.

Maddie and Bennett

Mom, what are all these girls doing?

Our Blog Book!

We published our blog! It is so cool and I am just thrilled about our blog book! I used "the cutest blog on the block," but they re-direct you to Shared Book and I now see that they have a lot more covers for your book! It came in yesterday and was really nice. It is a hard back book with over 200 pages. I published just 2009 and I didn't even start blogging until February. I guess I have been a busy blogger. It is so much easier than scrapbooking and way less time consuming. I thought it was a great deal and love having a "hard copy" of our "virtual scrapbook!"

I couldn't get these pictures to turn the correct way, but you get the idea.

It even came with a table of contents!

Look how many pages!

Just wanted to share my little find. I think everyone should make one!!
