Mudbugs Game Singing

We won an auction item at the St. Paul's auction for our child to be able to sing God Bless America at a mudbugs game.  It also got the child and their parents in the game for free!  Other people had extra tickets so they game them to us for Henry!

They "sang" God Bless America on the ice, but the Mudbugs didn't play the correct music so they kids didn't know when to sing.  Oh well!  They had so much fun!

Rain

The kids saw this giant puddle that remained there for no less than 3 months and immediately jumped in it!  In a smocked dress and school uniforms.  Filthy, but fun!

Saints Playoff Game

When Nana and Granddad mentioned going to the Saints playoff game in NOLA and taking Neil and Bennett they JUMPED on the opportunity!  It was still Christmas Break when they left, but Bennett had to miss one more day of school.  What's one more when you've been out for 16?

I made this sweet poster for Bennett to take to the game which was a huge hit!  It has a picture of Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers quarterback) crying golden tears and says "Who Dat Crying?"  My poster game is pretty darn strong if I do say so myself.

YAY!  We have 2 of these Saints towels!

Decked out in their Saints garb

I think Granddad loved the poster the most!

Neil said that random people would stop B on the side of the street to take a picture with his poster!!

Neil said that Bennett was almost in tears at the end of the game because the Saints almost lost.  But, they pulled off a win and all was right with the world!

Annual Christmas Tree Bonfire

We had our annual Christmas tree bonfire and it was our biggest stack of trees yet!  We had over 40! Thankfully, Jennifer went tree scouting and found tons! She even found one with the lights still on it. We added it up that it was probably around $500 they we were going to send up in flames on that one tree!

Neil and I drove around one morning on trash day and picked up about 20 trees that were on the street for the taking! Genius idea by Neil.
The kids had a blast running around at the camp. We cooked, we ate, and I even made a little scavenger hunt with silly string, light up necklaces, and candy.  I will expand that next year I think.

So much fun with these wilderness kids

This is the light given off by the bonfire!!!

Something scary is that these things are in people's homes.  They go up in flames in about 3 seconds.

SK was home with Gammy while we enjoyed the fun. Guess we will have to take her next year!

Independence Bowl and Shreveport Aquarium

Uncle Mike and Aunt Carolyn came to town to visit and see about Dad after Carolyn was diagnosed with lung cancer.  We were so glad they came to visit!  She was so sick and Dad really needed the support.

Dad got tickets to the Independence Bowl for Uncle Mike, Bennett, and him.  It was FREEZING!  I warned them before they went that Bennett would NOT want to leave.  I am talking he likes to stay at games until they are over no matter the score.  They stayed until the bitter end even when the score was up over 30 points!

People kept clearing out but Bennett was there still watching!

They came back home after the game to warm up and Uncle Mike helped me with some Festive Favors!

While we were still out on break we picked up Henry's friend John Hunter and went to the Shreveport Aquarium.  So glad we have an aquarium now!  We used to just go to PetSmart to look at their fish and call it a day.

Christmas in Ruston

After we finished our family Christmas at home we loaded up the car and headed to Ruston.  They were all waiting on us to eat lunch so we sat down and ate.  The kids were itching to open their gifts, but had to wait a little bit longer.

We had so much fun watching Richard pass out the gifts, opening our stockings, and seeing who Santa's favorite was going to be...it was Daniel!  That means you get a $5 bill in your stocking with all the $2 bills!

Bennett got a new baseball glove!

Sister straight up loved her Tech cheerleader outfit and new pompoms
