Disneyland Day 1!

We weren't up bright and early like our fabulous Disney planner suggested and that was just fine-Henry is my sleeper and isn't trying to wake up before around 9am.  So, we let him sleep.  He and Pops put on their matching shirts and we headed to the park!  We did California Adventure the first day and it was super fun.  We learned to navigate the scooter rental for Dad and it turned out to be great that we were entering the park mid morning-no lines!

We saw Goofy right when we arrived and had to get our pic!

Pops-living that Disney scooter life.  It was nice to have the basket on the front for all of our stuff!

I cannot say enough about how Disney treats people with disabilities.  It is truly remarkable.  We were able to get Dad safely on the rides and they would have his scooter turned the correct way so he could just get on and drive off.  They would stop the rides for him to get on.  It was just incredible!  It was very nice to have this luxury to get on rides and beat the lines, but it was honestly so needed.  We wouldn't have been able to do half the stuff we did without it.

Henry LOVED all of the treats!  And Dad was happy to oblige him!

So glad we had the Memory Maker package.  All of the Disney pics were so good!

Dad was totally feeling all things Disney!

Each day we would go back to the room for rest time and it was perfect!  We'd go back to the park for dinner, rides, and fireworks each night.

The evening in Cars land was so cute!

Watching the fireworks with this sleepy head. He loved being able to ride the scooter out of the park!

Henry's Special trip!

When we started discussing Henry's special trip with Pops he knew automatically that he wanted to go to California.  He didn't know where he wanted to go, but Cali was it!  So, I chose San Diego and Disneyland! He was pumped and so was Pops!

Neil, SK, and Bennett took us to the airport and there were a lot of tears from Henry and SK.  Sweet things.

He wanted Daddy to come too!

Tears were gone as we got to the gate and on the plane!

Pops gave him his phone and all was right with the world

I love making my laminated itineraries for our trips!
One of the coolest things is that we got to see the Williams family at the DFW airport!  Amy and I hadn't seen each other in weeks due to me being in Idaho and she was in NY seeing her family.  Our layovers overlapped in Dallas so we knew we had to go see them!  We had lots of time to kill so we met them at their gate for a quick hug and pic!

Back packs and fanny packs!

Movie!  Milk! Pretzels!  This boy was in heaven!

We landed in San Diego and picked up our rental car.  We drove straight to Disneyland (about 1 1/2 hours).  I knew we'd want to do this on the first leg of the trip and I am so glad we did!

We got to our hotel at Disney and were surprised with this super fun door decor!

Look what was waiting on the bed for Henry!  A giant Mickey, hat, autograph book and medal!

We made it just in time to head up to the roof top to watch the fireworks!

VBS and Mission Week

We got back from Idaho the night before VBS started.  We had a BIG couple of weeks.  The first day of VBS is a lot to prepare for so I am glad we got there extra early to get ready.  We were ready and excited to go in our backwards attire!

This was the first year that Bennett got to participate in Mission Week and After VBS Madness!  What an amazing week.  He got to serve at a different location each morning and the attend a super fun activity in the afternoon.  What an incredible experience!

Bennett loves being in the 5th and 6th grade "Step Up" group

Emily and I were in charge of Hospitality again and we did a fun festive favor for each teacher.

These girls really go into wacky tacky day!

After VBS one day Bennett had to miss After VBS Madness he had to have 3 teeth pulled.  Poor guy.

They cleaned the whole dining room at Common Ground

Here they are exercising at the MLK Health Center

Crazy Hair Day!

SK loved her crew leader, Chandler

Henry, Pops, and I were leaving the next day for Cali!  Whew!  I am exhausted!
