Little League 2019

Neil was in charge of the Little League opening ceremonies and they were a hit! (pun intended)  He had skydivers, a facepainter, food trucks, a fireworks show, and each team was presented on the field.  What a fun way to kick off baseball!

I love getting my face painted!

Looking for the skydivers!

The man with the plan

Bennett got to catch one of the ceremonial pitches.

These babies are children of the ballpark

Admiring his handy work

Sweet friends from all different teams

Carlon and Bennett have been in class together since Kindergarten

Henry's 1st grade play: HATS!

Henry was a police officer in his first grade play: Hats!  It was cute, but he was cuter!

He had a 1 line speaking part!

Henry+Growth Hormone

*After a few years of being seen by our pediatrician and pediatric endocrinologist (a father/daughter team) our fab ped endo decided it was time for Henry to start growth hormone injections.  This wasn't a decision we took lightly as Henry has had a 6 hour growth hormone stimulation test, MRI, numerous appointments, a bone age scan each year, and more.

His doctor determined that his growth hormone wasn't attaching to the "receptors" and the receptors tell the body what to do with the growth hormone.  The MRI came back and said that he had a small pituitary gland.  Sooooo...now he gets a shot each night.

We had to give the first shot in the office so they could be sure that we knew how to do it.  We watched the video tutorial on how to do it about 8 times.  We had to chase him around the office several times.  He cried.  He screamed. And then Dr. McVie talked to him.

He was so sweet to Henry and really helped him (and us) out.  He is the sweetest and smartest doctor!

For the first month, we had to chase Henry around the house every night to get his shot in his arm.  He is able to take the injection in his bottom, leg, stomach, or arm.  He WILL NOT allow it to be taken in any location other than his arm.

Neil made a cool prize box for Henry with a hole cut out of the top filled with all kinds of good stuff for after his shot each night. What a fun prize! (he misspelled his name)   :)

Thankfully this behavior passed quickly and he takes the shots like a pro!  He is the bravest/toughest guy I know!

Sweet friends gave Henry this blood making kit that was oh so sweet!

Sweet Grant, Paul, and John Mayton gave Henry these ice packs for him injection sites!

Henry's travel kit with mini sharps container and ice pack.  The injectors have to be refrigerated.

Daddy is a master!

Bid Daddio turns 38!

I thought I better get back to my blog before a year passes without a post.  So here we are with Neil's 38th birthday!  He is almost 39.  I guess it's been a great year!

We got up and had birthday pancakes and got Henry dressed because his dress rehearsal for his play was today.

Best!
Neil and a few guys were supposed to take the kids on a father/kid camping trip, but they had to cancel due to rain so we threw a birthday celebration together and thankfully no one was busy and they were all able to come celebrate our favorite guy!

Good looking crew celebrating Neil!

Highland Parade!

We had fun at the Highland parade again this year!  It is really our favorite!  It was freeeeeezing cold and rainy! We brought a friend with us who had never been to a parade so watching him see everything for the first time was so neat!

Kris and Bennett

We even saw Bennett's teacher and a couple other 4th grade boys!

That's the Black/White Krewe

Neil caught this yard-o-beef and he is pretty sure it broke his finger!

Bennett caught this cute llama for sister!

It started raining and was soooo cold and our fingers were chilled to the bone, so we decided to leave with floats still coming.  This is a big NO-NO for me!  But, I guess it's best to not let the kids get hypothermia!

Ruston Mardi Gras

Rebecca invited us to ride in the Ruston Mardi Gras parade!  Her float, 2 High Trampoline park, was so festive!  They had all the throws and everything!  We had so much fun!

Sweet Smarts

Loving our glitter!!

Lillian-our little Mardi Gras baby!

Bennett loves holding her so much!

Mardi Gras tired.

I couldn't resist bringing her inside to snuggle before putting her to bed.  My baby is getting too big!
