Back to School Breakfast

Since my boys were both starting new schools, I decided that we needed to have an extra special back to school breakfast.  My cricut is at it again helping me make all the cute table decorations.  My boys love a school bus and want to ride one so badly!  I made some breakfast cookies that were not delicious at all (Just ask Ashleigh), mini parfaits, and they had some alpha-bits cereal.  It was fun!  They really liked their back to school prizes!

Happy boy??

They both got new pjs to wear, a DVD, and a new book.  Bennett LOVES Skylanders and has NEVER even played it.  He got Skylander pjs.

cuties at their breakfast.  So sad Daddy had to miss because he was in Tulsa. (even sister's bottle made it to the back to school breakfast!)

Henry's first day of K-3!

Henry is super excited about his new, big boy school.  He is going to Bennett's old school and he thinks that is HUGE.  Sarah Kathryn goes to the baby school and he goes to BIG BOY school.  We went for the "meet the teacher" ice cream social and he got to play with toys before the first day.

They even sang to him on his birthday!

This bulletin board was up just for Henry! (and Kaitie)
I am super thrilled about Henry's goals in life.  He wants to be a monster that is in a really dark tunnel.  Sweet.  I was thinking more along the lines of a superhero or fireman but nope..monster it is.  He is growling in some of these pictures.  These are the actual first day photos:

Mrs. Rose guided him right to the table to feed the rabbit and he was thrilled.  He never even looked my way!  Bennett and I left right after so we could get to his new school.

Henry's 3rd Birthday!

Henry is 3!  My how time flies.  Our big boy is a sweet thing that is also "the mess of the universe" as Gammy lovingly calls him.  We love this sweet boy!

  • Henry's favorite word is bottom.  He says it ALL THE TIME.  He attaches it to everything and will even all you a bottom.  Neil said he is essentially calling us all asses. :)
    • What are you doing?   Answer: Bottom
    • What is that? Answer: Bottom
    • Who is that? Answer: Bennett Bottom
  • Favorite color is BLUE.  There is no other color besides blue.  He says "bwoo."
  • He loves giving kisses. He will just come up and grab your hand and kiss it.  Sometimes he will even kiss your toes.

Birthday pancakes with candle

  •  His pronoun usage is a little off.  The other day Gammy did something and he said "I don't want SHE do that."
  • He loves to "pway" (play).  He can play alone with books, trucks, action figures, or puzzles.  He also loves Paw Patrol and pretending to play on a phone/tablet.
  • At his 3 year well check up he was >3 percentile in height and 25 percentile in weight.  We are going for MRI Friday to check his pituitary.  We had a bone age scan and it was normal! :)

Birthday Chick Fil a
  • Henry can be really defiant.  I am talking he will not do what you want him to do unless he is ready to do it.  Stubborn.  But, it just contributes to his sweet personality that I love so much.
  • He likes to have races and competitions with Bennett.  He wants to be first and win at everything. We raced puzzles tonight and Henry and I won.  He said "we winned and you didn't!"  We are working on being a good winner.
  • Henry loves Sarah Kathryn so much.  He gives her kisses and rubs her head.  He is a little rough because his "gentle" is not so gentle.

We had the K-3 ice cream social and Mrs. Rose wanted to sing.  Luckily I had my candle handy!

  • Henry is loving school and is doing well.  He tells us about his friends: Brynleigh, Dawson, John Marshall and Jackson. I hope he always likes it.
  • He loves to get the squirt bottle that I use to wet their hair in the mornings and squirt it in his mouth.  This is probably one of his favorite things ever.  I can find him in the bathroom with his entire face wet from squirting the water in his mouth.
  • Favorite food is "nunus" (noodles).

We pulled up to the house to NO POWER so it was off to Johnny's for birthday dinner.
I've been thinking of so many things that I want to put on his age 3 post.  I can't remember all the things now!  I attribute that to #mommyof3kidsbrain.

Henry, what I want you to know is that you are a one-of-a-kind boy who is so special. You make us laugh everyday with your comments or actions! We love you to the moon and back!

Bull Buteau Skeet Shoot

After talking about it for a few years we decided to have a girl team at the Bull Buteau Skeet Shoot!  We decided to enter before we even learned how to shoot a gun...but we had our monogrammed shirts planned so that's all that matters, right?  We had a wonderful time supporting a great cause and being with friends.  I can see us entering tournaments all over the city now that we actually know how to load a gun and fire it!

I was proud of myself for hitting 18/102!  Almost 20%!  Neil thought I was going to tell him that I only hit 5 or something so he was impressed too.  Mary Catherine was the winner of our team with 37 hits!  She is an old pro!  Way to go, Buckshot Babes!!!  I can't wait for next year!

We learned how to load and shoot the guns 2 days before at the camp.  Andre cooked and threw skeet.  Trey and Neil were the expert gun safety advisers.

We pulled up bright and early Saturday morning to about 50 trucks with trailers, rangers, and carts.  My kind of party right here.  Oh, and the country music...I love the south!  I will have to say that I was a little intimidated and nervous, but then I just felt so cool knowing I was actually participating!
We were feeling super confident because we knew just what to do.  But, we got to our first station and had forgotten shotgun shells and our score card.  Luckily Erinn is married to the guy running the show so he brought what we needed.  Thankfully Trey put Andre and Sutton with us and they were a huge help.  I decided their team name would be "Buckshot Babes Assistants!"

I am shooting my dad's 20 gauge and wearing a sweet shotgun pouch.
Our team: Mary Catherine, Jennifer, Leigh, me, and Erinn

Nana and Granddad brought the boys out.  Gammy kept SK for me.

Looking official!

Neil said "I thought you were getting your shirt monogrammed.." I said "turn it over!"  He thought the huge monogram was offensive! haha!

Bennett and Georgia
Trey announced the winners and almost forgot about the last place winners...Buckshot Babes! ha!  Bennett was thrilled and kept saying "we wooooon, we woon" all day long. He told me all day after "Mommy, I am sooooo proud of you!"  After his sweet comments I didn't need to win.  We did win with an average score of 22.  The next closest to us was a 42! ha!
Our prize: water guns!  ha!  The kids were thrilled because they actually got a prize!

sweet things!

Henry's 3rd birthday party!

We had Henry's 3rd birthday party with Reid, Carolyn's grandson.  They are born a week apart so it just seemed like a great idea.  All along I would ask Henry "what do you want for your birthday?"  He would always say "a birthday party!"

And that is just what we did!

I edited out the cute bottom of this to delete our phone numbers! :)

I am basically a crazy lady when it comes to planning the birthday parties.  It is something I love to do and I just can't get enough of them.  I really just want my babies to feel special.  I do go a bit overboard, but it's one day a year...right?

So, my craziness with this party was when I decided that I wanted to give balls that "bounce" as the party favor because we were "bouncing" at the party..get it?  So when I saw that Target put their balls on clearance I bounced on them (pun intended!).  Only thing I never thought of was how I was going to get them home with 2 kids (Henry was at school), 3 carseats, and limited cargo space.  Thankfully, I saw Lindsay in the toy department and she offered to take some home for me!  I also called Carolyn and she came to pick up a set.
All the Target balls
And we got cute labels for the balls...  It turned out cute.

I love this family photo
