Summer Weekend

We headed over to Ruston on Friday night for a surprise 30th birthday party for Hunter.  Neil and Hunter grew up together and their parents are good friends.  We were glad to be a part of his special night.  Happy 30th, Hunter!  We were only able to stay for a little over an hour because I was absolutely burning up.  We headed back to the Lewis' for a laid back evening of pjs and tv...my kind of night!

We got up bright and early and headed back to Shreveport from Ruston to make it to Drew's 2nd birthday party.  I am so glad we came back for it because Bennett loves Gymboree and seeing all of his friends.  And he was worn out and fell asleep on the way home from the party.

Bennett just loves babies!  He went and sat right next to Briggs and started rubbing his head.  I hope he loves Henry as much as he loves all of the other babies!

Bennett was so excited that he caught a bubble on his thumb...I was so excited that I caught this on camera!

Happy Birthday Drew!  "Bemmett" (this is what Drew calls Bennett) was excited to celebrate with you.

On Saturday night, we made some last minute plans to eat at Country Tavern with friends.  Kyle and Lindsey Allen were in town from New Orleans so we certainly wanted to meet up with them.  We got to eat with the Chandlers, Heath and his girlfriend, and Kyle's family.  We even saw a ton of people there that we knew...but as they were arriving we were making a quick exit.  =We headed home to the best babysitter ever...Mom!  Thanks so much for keeping Bennett at the last minute!

On Sunday, we got to experience the brand new Emmett Hook Center at church.  Our contemporary service, Faithlink moved to a brand new building.  We have been anticipating this move for weeks.  Leslie's office is the one that designed the whole thing and it looks great.  Way to go Leslie!  It was fun to have Leslie with us because she knew about all of the short-cuts to get back to the nursery.  Worship today was fantastic in the new space.  I am so excited that we will get to have Henry baptized in the new building.

After a nice nap (by all of us Lewis'), we headed to the Buteau's house for some sliding fun!  Their grandmother gave them this enormous water slide that it perfect for the kids.  So glad we got to hang out and enjoy our kids together.  It is fun to get together and socialize while the kids are occupied with something that's so much fun.
