A birthday post that shows we actually have fun without the kids!

I love July because a lot of my close friends have birthdays within a week of each other.  I am a huge birthday person and never feel that you "get too old" to celebrate your birthday.

On Friday, we got to celebrate with Erinn for her 29th birthday.  We went to Superior Grill for dinner and even went to Superior's Steakhouse for an after party.  I was a total party animal until 11:15 pm!  Bennett stayed with Gammy so we knew we would be able to sleep in.  Any time after 9 is late for me!

Happy 29th!

Fun time at the Steakhouse

On Saturday, we had Amy's fabulous 30th birthday celebration.  Our theme was "Celebrating 30 years of Amy!"  Catherine, Nikie, Bobby, Margaret, and I helped to put the party together.  We all met at Zocolo to decorate the day of the party.  I think the thought put in to the party is a testament to what a good friend Amy is to everyone.  So many people wanted to contribute to make her day special.  The hostess working the party was amazed that people would go to that much trouble for someone even saying "wow, I've never seen anything like this...y'all must really like her!" Yes, we do!  Margaret made the most amazing "party pic" sheet of 5 different "Amys."  As a child, Amy was a baton twirler and pageant queen.  As an adult, she is a swim coach, teacher, and party girl!  The sheet is absolutely amazing!  Margaret also made cupcakes.  We all contributed to making the 5 themed tables special.  Tina brought about 5 boxes over to me of "Amy" memorabilia.  She brought trophies, crowns, costumes, and pictures.  Everything came together to make the cutest "tablescapes" ever!

The "swimming" table.  I loved the "noodle" vase idea.  I can see using that idea for a pool party!

the favor...a "Laverne" car on a cookie that says "drive-by cookie!"  This was Amy's first car.

the fellas had fun with the sheet, too!

Neil and me...I love how we match!  Thanks so much to Casey for letting me borrow some cute maternity tops for the next few weeks.
It was such a fun weekend!  We picked up Bennett this morning and he did NOT want to leave Gammy.  He threw the biggest fit and kept saying "I want Gam Gam!"  He was not happy to be back with us!  It makes me sad, but it also makes me glad to know that he has people that love him as much as we do!
