Non-Stop Saturday

We had a non-stop Saturday.  I had a wonderful night of sleep because Neil decided to get up with Henry for each feeding.  It was so nice and I almost forgot what it was like to have a full night's sleep.  I don't want to wait too long to find out how nice it was again.  On to our day:

We started out the morning with Mason's fun birthday.  I cannot believe that Mason is 3!  Seems like just yesterday we met them at Gymboree when the boys were only a few months old.  A few of us girls were hosting a baby shower for Margaret so the dads had to take the kids to the party...alone.

Bennett saw Maddie and screamed "Maddie!"  Maddie is in his class and he sees her everyday.

Bennett really wanted to make sure that everyone saw Henry.  He would say "you wanna see Henry to everyone?"

Henry and I had to leave the party early to head to Margaret and Baby William's shower.  We had a fun time getting everything together for the shower.  I stopped by Leigh's house before the party to drop off my stuff.  We did it sort of like the luncheon my friends had for Henry and me.  We did a trio of salads and had cupcakes.

Margaret is decorating her nursery with little alligators.  The bedding is so cute and preppy.  I love the gator idea because I went to and teach at CSHS!  Chris (Margaret's hubby) is very worried about the whole gator thing since he went to the rival school, Byrd.

After the shower, I was hoping to relax since it was going to be my night to stay up with Henry.  Neil wanted to have a few friends over tonight so we had to go to the grocery store.  Well, the Direct TV guy showed up to install the new system (more on that later) and Neil didn't want me here with just the technician and the boys so I went to the store.  We have Direct TV now because KMSS (our local FOX station) is not showing Saints games.  This made Neil mad so we switched!  I headed to the store and was wiped out by the time I got home.  

I was excited that the Raines' and the Strubles came over for dinner.  Tim (Neil's co-worker) just got engaged last week so he and his fiance (Lori Beth) brought her son over to play.  Bennett was so excited to get to meet Houston (Lori Beth's son).  He kept saying "I want to play with Hoooooston!"

Connie (Leigh's mom) came with the Raines'.  She was dressed so cute until  Jake pooped on Leigh and peed on Connie!  Leigh had to borrow shorts and Connie had to borrow a shirt!  It was hilarious!

I was SO thankful that Leigh bathed Bennett for me.  The boys had so much fun with their "silly hair!"

Dinner with Cousins

Carolyn (Neil's cousin) and Chad brought over a fabulous Mexican feast on Friday.  The meals that our friends and family have supplied us with every other day for a month have been a HUGE blessing.  I will be so sad when this week is over because that's when the meals end.  :(

Connor and Bennett had a total blast running around chasing the ball.  Bennett slept for 12 hours after they played so hard.

Yellow Week

Bennett had yellow week at school this week.  I  am just loving this new school.  The teacher sends us e-mails with pictures and updates on the kids.  They all wore yellow on Wednesday and made lemonade and tasted lemons.  Ms. Kristen said the kids drank a gallon of "lillanade" (that's what Bennett calls it).

I picked Bennett up from school during yellow week and I had Henry's carseat in the car.  My mom came to the house to keep him while I ran a couple errands.  We were almost home and Bennett looked over to Henry's seat and said with a concerned look on his face "Where's Baby Henry???"  He was so worried!

Henry (1 month)

I am going to try something with each of Henry's "month" photos that I saw on Pinterest. It is such a fun way to keep the fun monthly milestone memories.  Luckily I had this fabric for a background because his first month crept up on me!

We go to doctor on Wednesday so I will update stats then. (Borrowed from Casey's highlights)

Weight: 8lbs 4 oz (10th percentile)

Length: 20.5 inches (10th percentile)

Some things about our ONE month old:

• Size 1 diaper
• NB clothes fit perfectly, 0-3 month clothes are still huge!
• Your eyes are still a dark blue, we think they will stay like Bennett's eyes.
• You sleep most of the day and love to look around and watch your big brother when you are awake
• You have reflux and we started you on Zantac twice a day last week.  This helped you to sleep 5 hours straight 1 night...this was a gift from God.
• You are eating every 3 hours pretty much around the clock unless you decide to sleep through a feeding.  I am constantly "hooked up" to you for a good 8 hours a day.  We had to start supplementing a couple weeks ago with a 1-2 oz bottle of formula after each feeding.  You just weren't getting enough!
• You are spoiled rotten!  You LOVE to be held.  Daddy is way better at getting you to sleep than me.  I love holding you in my arms at night in the chair in your room.  You sleep beautifully like this.  Sometimes I just have to hold you so that we can both sleep.
• You started sleeping in your crib in your room from night 1.  We want you to be used to it and not switch your from room to room or bed to bed.
• You are SO easy to take places.  You just sleep the whole time.  
• I think you might have thrush right now.  Poor baby.  I think I diagnosed you from pictures from the internet.  Don't worry... I also called the doctor!  
• You have already been to 2 birthday parties and are on the go...we take you everywhere and you roll with the punches nicely.
• You are on Zantac for reflux and oral Nystatin for thrush...lots of meds at such a young age.  We just want to keep you healthy!
• I love when you grip my fingers...this is one of my favorite baby reflexes.  I could just stare at you all day...sometimes I do!
• You LOVE to eat.  You usually eat on each side for 12-18 minutes and then you want a bottle of about 1 oz of formula.  Feeding you takes about an hour or more and then you are ready to eat all over again 2 hours later!
• People say you look like me, but when I pull up pictures of Bennett...you look just like him!

Happy 62nd, Dad!

My dad asked me the other day if we wanted to go out to eat this weekend for his birthday.  I said yes, but I would have to see if Mom could watch the boys.  He said that he wanted them to go eat with us.  Well, it is just not possible to take these 2 to a nice restaurant and ask them to sit for 2 hours QUIETLY.  So, Dad decided he would rather stay home and grill steaks so the boys could attend.  Great idea! Carolyn was so nice to open up her home for the party.  I will have to say that it was nice to get out of the house!  Carolyn even had french fries and chicken for Bennett! I made this pie for his birthday because he LOVES peanut butter pie.  I thought it turned out pretty good!  Neil grilled steaks because he is pretty much a grilling master. They were fabulous!

Football Season! Yay!

 Neil has been waiting for this day for months.  I think we all have...we have missing football around these parts!  Neil has been an avid Saints fan since childhood so he was thrilled that the NFL season started with the Saints playing!  He had a few guys over to watch the game.  We all got dressed up in our Saints garb to watch the game.  Thanks so much to Amy for taking our family pictures...
