King Cake Makin'

Aunt Becky bought a do-it-yourself king cake for the boys again this year.   We love that she gets to go to New Orleans and WE reap the benefits.  Don't get me started on the "Ooey Gooey Snickedoodle" king cake she brought back...man it was delectable!

The boys had fun decorating their own cake and eating it, too!

February Saturday

We were so excited to have Neil home on Saturday.  The boys get so excited to do fun things with him.  We started our morning at Lowe's because they had a fun "love letter holder" building class.  I was surprised at how much Henry got in to it.  He really liked using his hammer!

Great job, Bennett!

We saw Beau and Drew there too.  Beau was really concentrating on his chalk drawing!

My sweeties!
Our next stop was Akin's.   They have the best deal in town...$5 to decorate and plant a pot for Valentine's Day.  They said they will be doing it for Easter and Mother's Day as well.  We will certainly be partaking.  Thanks to Pops for telling us about it and going the day before to pay for us to go.

soooo proud of his pot!

Bennett chose lettuce for his plant! :)

They were most excited about the box of candy they received after they finished.

I had to laugh at the difference in boys and girls.  We arrived and saw a girl I work with her daughter and a friend.  They were working hard on their pots making sure everything was just right.  Our boys got there after them, decorated, planted, and were ready to leave before those girls had even finished decorating!  Such a difference!

My Favorite Student

We were sitting in class on Friday and all the power went out in our building.  I just thought it was my building because we run lots of computers and we are on a different system. I called the office and they said the whole school was out!  Well, it was cold and dark and I was babysitting 35 teenagers...freshmen!  Bennett's teacher called and said that he would need to be picked up because their power was out too!  Apparently the power was in a 5 mile area.  So, I called my Dad and he was able to get Bennett for me thank goodness.  I asked the principal if he could come to CSHS since he had no where else to go.  She said yes!

Well, the power came back on right when Bennett pulled up to school.  We had to proceed with our day as normal.  He came in and sat in the back row while I taught my last class.  Luckily most of them had checked out so I only had 6 students!  Bennett was soooooo good!

He drew a few pictures of "broken power lines" and hung them on my bulletin board.  He drew a heart on my dry erase board that I just couldn't bring myself to erase for a week!  He drew some Valentine's, burped loudly, had to go to the bathroom during the middle of class (#2), and was really just my best student!  I loved having him there!

He got to enjoy a tummy yummy (and so did the rest of the class)

My sweet little student!!

Muffins with Mom

Muffins with Mom is such a special day for me.  I just love being able to go with my big boy to his school and eat breakfast.  It's a short event, but well worth it to me!  I will NOT miss one of these.

Bennett was exhausted this morning and sort of threw a fit.  People even commented on how exhausted he looked.  Poor guy!  He was a littler tear and it made me sad/mad.  He ended up shaping up and we had a good morning.

Our Wednesday

Since Neil has been working out of town so much lately it has really given us a new routine.  It is hard, but I am so thankful that my mom is willing to help me.

The boys had haircuts at 4:30.  Henry loves sweeping the old. cut hair.  Ewwwww.

Sweet boy with his hair all cut.  So handsome!

After that we had a Sigma Kappa Alumnae Chapter king cake tasting at Julie Anne's.  I took the boys because I thought it would be a fun evening outing.  They totally ran around the place.  Yes, I am the parent who can't control her children.  Thankfully there weren't many people there.

Thanks to Bennett for taking this picture!

After Julie Anne's, we had baths, books, a little Jake and the Neverland Pirates and then bed.  I just pray that the boys will sleep all night in their beds while Neil is away.  Henry cried for 20 minutes wanting his daddy.  It is so sad because we all miss Neil so much while he is away.  Bennett woke up and got in bed with me because my mom usually lets him get in bed with her at night.  Well, I took him back to his bed!  Anyway, he came back to my bed and I was just too tired to take him back.  He woke up at 5 saying he tee teed through his pull-up onto our mattress!  Oh, the joys of motherhood!

I know people have it a lot harder than we do but, this single-parent thing is HARD. I don't know how people do it 24/7.

29 weeks with #3!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: don't know

Maternity Clothes: Mostly maternity...I am running low on tops so I re-wear the same few things over and over

Gender: We aren't finding out!  It is sort of fun not knowing.  We are trying to come up with a creative way to tell people what we are having.  Our girl name is Sarah Kathryn and our boy name is TBD.  We've been throwing boy names around like crazy.  None are sticking.

Movement: kicking and moving all the time.  Lots in the early morning and evening.

Sleep: I sleep really well except for my every 1-2 hour bathroom breaks

What I miss: pain-free living due to tail bone issues

Cravings: I have been loving cold fruit, salads, sweet tea, and CUTIES (I ate 7 in one sitting on Saturday.

Symptoms:  severe abdominal pain from 9pm-6am on Sunday.  I finally called the doc on call and she had me go in to the hospital.  Turns out...UTI.  ouch!

Best Moment this week: Bennett said "how does the baby take a bath?  Do you have to swallow soap and water?"

February Weekend

Erinn and I have been talking about how we needed an adult dinner.  We nailed down a date and got it planned.  Too bad the Buteau's had babysitter trouble and couldn't join us! :(

We had 12 for dinner at Bella Fresca Bistro.  It was a great time because started and ended at the Smith's new house.  They have a fabulous patio with a fireplace and everything.  Such a fun night with friends!

Cole, Beau, Neil, Andre, Jay, Marc
Back: Nikki, Lindsay, Heather, Leigh, Erin, and me (hidden)
Saturday morning we had to get some mobile home stuff done.  Neil wanted us to ride with him so we could all be together since he had been out of town the week before.  We got started bright and early and didn't get home until around 12:30.  Mobile Home Moguls is what I was calling us!  The only picture I got from the adventure was of Henry chewing on his toes!!! ick!!

Toes are Tasty.
We got home, put Henry down for a nap and Neil & Bennett headed to Green's to pick up my new toy shelves!  I love them!!!!  Too bad we forgot to measure so 1 of them doesn't fit.  It's OK because I wanted two $400 shelves from Land of Nod and Green built both for $100.  Pretty sweet deal.

While they were out, I took a nap and stayed hooked up to my heart monitor.  I was glad to be done with this thing on Saturday.

Saturday night we headed to Target for much needed groceries and for Henry to pick out his new potty training undies!!!  He was so excited!  He has been ready to potty train for awhile now but I just haven't been ready.  He loves going on the potty and he has even gone at school.  Mama just needs to get on it.

I feel so bad that there aren't any pics of Bennett and Neil!  Maybe next post!

Oh and Sunday I had to go to the hospital for 6 hours due to a UTI.  Total pain and I felt dumb the entire time I was there because I knew I was fine.  I just had had pain since 9pm on Saturday and couldn't shake it by 6am the next day.  Called the doc on call and she told me to go in.
