Valentine's Day

As I said in another post, I love celebrating EVERYTHING!  Call me crazy, but I like making every moment count.  It's not much work and I am not trying to win any photography or party styling awards (obviously)...just a few little things made by my kids on the table to make it different than other mornings.

Valentine's breakfast was heart shaped pancakes with sprinkles and pink milk.  Mmmmmm.

After breakfast, we headed to Lowe's to make our "sweetheart frame."  Funny, I don't even know where those went!! :)
Bennett's Valentines "Whoopee! It's Valentine's Day!" on a whoopee cushion.  sorry, parents.

We had a family project to create a Valentine's mailbox out of an old cereal box.  Bennett was adamant that he didn't need my help.  I LOVE THIS SORT OF THING.  I was cringing because I wanted to help!!  I had so many ideas.  But, then I had to get a grip because it's a Kindergarten art project for crying out loud.  So, he wanted red and white only..I found paper and he drew all the fancy hearts, BFF, and I love you on it.  I asked him what color he wanted his letters to be for his name because I was going to Hobby Lobby...he said Orange and Green! ha!  That's what I got.  He was so proud and so am I!  Great job, Bennett!!
We brought the Valentine's treat...school colors on hearts? yes, please.
Sissy loved her balloon!

Valentine's lunch was heart shaped pizza.  No one ate it.

Henry's Valentine: "I'm donuts about you, xoxo Henry."  He loved powdered sugar donuts so I thought this was fitting.

Henry's Grandparent's Day

Henry had grandparent's day at his school.  I've never been because I thought it was just for grandparent's and I always had to work.  Well I have missed out!  What a great little program they had!  I think everyone had a tear or two as the children sang the sad, sweet, patriotic songs.  It was so emotional!

They started the day with a breakfast.  Pops and Gammy met us there.  I had to bring fruit and was late with it because I had to drop off stuff at Bennett's school for Valentine's Day.

We went to the performance...we sat on the balcony so we could see.  I so wish I would have had my zoom lens for my little boy!  Oh, it was so cute!  They sang 4 songs...the same 4 songs that Bennett sang for the past 2 years.  How fun!  This has been the only time I've thought about missing FBCS when we are at our new school next year.  What a sweet day!

There's our little guy right in front in the red sweater vest.

He actually performed!  So cute!

He even did the hand movements!  I think he couldn't see us so he did his thing!

He got mad about something here.  He had 4 VERY PROUD grandparent's watching him...and me!

Gammy and Henry at the breakfast.

After the performances, the middle school sang all 5 theme songs from each branch of the US Armed Forces.  If you or an immediate family member is/was in that branch while they were singing..you were supposed to stand.  TEARS!  Richard stood for Navy for his Dad. Mom and Janine stood for their dads for Air Force.  I thought my grandfather was in the Army??

They gave out awards for oldest grandparent.  They started with "stand up if you are 60!"  Richard got to stand and was so proud!  The lady who won was 88...We said if Gigi would have come we would have won by 10 years!!  Nana and Granddad also got to stand for traveling the longest distance for the 50 miles category.  The lady who won traveled 1,400 miles.  Darn. No prizes for us.

Yay for 61!
We headed to the classroom to see Henry's art and centers.  He really only wanted to play on the iPad!

Showing Nana his artwork
After, we headed to lunch at Marilynn's which was lots of fun!  We are so thankful that our kids have 4 fantastic grandparents and 3 great-grandparents!

Centaur Float Loading

After going to the Centaur float loading party last year, I knew this would have to be an annual family event.  It is so much fun to see all floats and even be able to get on a float.  What a fun family memory!

We saw Neil's cousin, Cody!

Henry's Muffins with Mom

Yay for Muffins with Mom!  I love special times with my little ones.

We tried a group shot of the K-3 boys.  Hmmmmmm.

Puffs Pro

Sarah Kathryn eats puff now!!!  She is just so sweet!!!  I love watching her pick up the tiny pieces with her little fingers.  Can't believe how big our girl is getting.  Almost time for a birthday party!

Henry likes to sneak the puffs.

Super Bowl Party

Neil said that Andre' and Beau were hounding about hosting a Super Bowl party...so we did.  I love peer pressure.....we love having people over!  So glad the fellows were able to get to the house at 9:30 to start cooking.  The kids had a great time playing in the yard, the dirt pile, and on the riding toys.

Since it was calling for rain we moved everything into the shop.  We swept and cleaned it and blew up the screen.  It turned out to be perfect for a party.  Since we set up the screen a few days before the party we've been enjoying watching TV outside for a few days.  Henry was in heaven!!!  Classy rednecks!!

We love our dirt pile...my floors do NOT! :)

The guys can always be found congregating with beer and food and surprisingly...no kids!

Love that face!

We had everything from a leather chair to old dining room chairs to folding chairs to sit on.

There's the screen!
