The St. Jude Volunteer Leadership Conference was such a wonderful experience. I've been on the St. Jude Gala committee in Shreveport for 3 years. You are eligible to attend the Volunteer Leadership in Memphis if you are on a St Jude committee in your state. Each state gets a certain umber of people to attend and since it was during Mardi Gras so none of the south LA people wanted to attend! We got to have 7 of our committee members attend!
Our first task was to complete the Vision Board. When we heard about this a couple months before we got busy planning! You could tell that we were the only ones who prepared for this task. We really thought there would be an award, but sadly, we were mistaken!

They made us take our balloons off. |

Our theme for our Event is NO MO CHEMO! We themed the event like a birthday party and it was STELLAR! Here we are with our board before the cocktail party and dinner. |

We were treated to a wonderful weekend at the Peabody, wonderful meals, and even got a tour of the hospital. It was just a great way to treat your volunteers. We were able to hear from patients, patients who are now doctors at the hospital, and, patient families. |

We got to watch the famous duck walk! This guy is only the 4th duck commander in the history of the Peabody! |
