Mystery Date Night

Our church offers so many fun things for families and singles and couples and anyone really!  On Friday, they hosted a "Mystery Date" night.  We were told to pull up to the church, drop off the kids, and someone would hand us a bag with the details.

Mrs. Billie, the creative nursery director, came up with a a cute poem that sent everyone to Silver Star BBQ.  We all ended up in the same place!  We enjoyed ourselves so much.  The church even gave each couple a $20 gift certificate towards our meal.

Our table...I looked enormous and Neil's eyes were closed...hence the stickers I added!

Valentine Makin'

Bennett is having a Valentine's party on Thursday at school.  He has to take valentines with his name on them.  Since Shutterfly was running a special...I thought he needed some with his picture on them.  I tried to get him to write the kids' names on the cards, but he wasn't feeling it.  So, he decorated all the envelopes.  Every child received a Power Ranger except for Loralei who got a princess.  He loves Loralei!

The adorable valentine.

Working hard!!

He was so proud of the princess he made for Loralei.

I was so proud of him for sitting and making these for his friends!

He did get tired of making them after creating 9 of them.  The last 2 kids received scribbles and a balloon.  It's the thought that counts!

Super Bowl

The Kremeier's hosted a totally fun Super Bowl party for our Sunday school class.  It was wild and crazy because there were about a million kids there.  The food was great and plentiful.  We went home before half time and to be honest I never knew who won the game until I called my dad and asked him.

Henry loved playing with all the toys...there's something about new toys that kids love!

How cute is Jake??

Henry at 18 months

My oh my I cannot believe this baby is going to be 2 in just six short months.  How on earth did this happen???  Time really does go by so much faster with the 2nd child!

What are you up to these days?
  • You weigh 24.8 pounds.  I know this because we went to the doctor today because you have been sick for 3 days.
  • You call milk, MO.  You love MO.  I think it started because we would ask if you wanted "more" and it just stuck for milk.
  • You went to time out for the first time on February 6th.  The reason you went is because you pulled a log out of the fireplace and then took a package of wooden skewers out of the pantry.  You dumped the skewers out on the floor when I said "no."  When I went to grab the last one from your hand, you ran off laughing!  You could have been injured with that thing!  You actually stayed in Time-out the whole minute.  It was terrible watching you sit there.
Time-out
  • You can climb on the couch all by yourself.  You are so proud of yourself!
  • You have 3 1/2 molars and 8 other teeth.  You fingers stay in your mouth.
  • You really enjoy puzzles and this dog book we have.
  • You are a great sleeper most of the time.  At home, you take 3 hour or more naps.  You go to sleep easily around 7pm and wake up around 7am.  You do still wake up a couple times a night to whine for a few seconds, but then usually get yourself back to sleep.
  • When we talk about what dogs say you say "no, no!"  You love to say "no, no" and shake your finger at every dog!  You learned this from daycare.  Daddy says that every morning when he walks you in you start saying "no, no!"
  • Whenever you hear someone come in the back door you like to run to see who it is.  A greeting from you sure puts a smile on all those faces.
Henry, we love you to the moon and back!!!

Muffins with Mom

I was thrilled to go to Muffins with Mom this year!  It was short and sweet.  I was really glad I got to sit with Erinn and Erin and their girls.  It was a fun little morning!

Little Black Dress Luncheon

I don't know if I'd mentioned it or not, but I am the "team leader" for the women's ministry at our church.  I don't think it means I have any sort of authority or anything like that...it's just a title.  Our staff person at the church is Deana, director of Women's ministry and Prayer ministry. She handles the business side of things.

We've been planning this event for a few months and have been really excited about it.  We have a Bible study beginning at the end of February that is so exciting because I will be able to go!  Now on to the event...

We had Knox Goodman, a local boutique owner teach us how to accessorize our outfits. She was so funny saying things like "we are girls until we die" and "belts have never been out of style."  Erinn and Leigh Ann modeled the $500 dresses for us!  We also had Debbie Covington speak about her ministry, Journey of Sisters and deliver the message for us.  She did a great job!

The planning team: Carolyn, Glenda, me, Kay, Melonie, Brooke, Jody, and Deana

We had everyone donate clothes and accessories for a local organization.

Brooke did a fabulous job on the decor!!!  I was impressed!

Here I am doing the welcome...I didn't know if I needed tights or bare legs...I went bare.

Frank's and Gators

We decided to try out our new brick pizza oven place on Friday night.  The place is called Frank's and it was delicious!  It was so fresh and even the boys enjoyed it.  We can't wait to go back!

Henry LOVED the pizza.  He ate 3 pieces!

I thought that I needed to go to the Gator basketball game as well.  Considering I've not been to a single extra curricular event this year...I thought I should go since this was the last basketball game.  For some reason, Neil did not want to go.  I told him that we didn't have to go long and could just go to the girls' game.  He said he would most definitely not be going to that!  So, Bennett and I met Lynsie and John at the game.  Coach Martinez gave the boys district champs shirts from last year.  They were loving it!

Baby Gators!
