Frogs, Snails, and Puppy dogs tails...that's what little boys are made of!

Here are more party pictures of Henry's 1st birthday.  More to come of my beautiful boy ripping into his cake.

Here is the food table!

Gummy snail and frog kabobs.  Thanks so much to Nana for making every single one.  They turned out so cute!

Henry's Party food!

I had a lot of fun planning the menu for Henry's party. With a theme like "Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog tails" I knew I could get creative with the food. I know that some people think I might be crazy for going all out on a 1 year old's birthday party, but this is just me and this is what I like to do.  It is a ton of fun!

My dear friend, Amanda made the cutest food labels to match the invitations.  She is so crafty with Powerpoint.  Thanks, friend!

We enjoyed snail dirt cups.  Snail gummies cannot be found anywhere but the internet!  They looked gross but they went with the theme so we had to do it! right?

Snail breadsticks that my aunt and cousin helped make.  Thanks, family!  You can see an empty tray where the "frog legs" went.  They were really chicken strips because frog legs "taste like chicken."

The adorable cake by Aly B's Bakery.

Henry's smash cake also by Aly B's.

Snail Pasta salad.  It doesn't really have snails..the pasta just looked curly like  a snail shell.  Thankfully, my mom, Nana, and Aunt made this while I did who knows what to get ready!

Frog apples.  There were only 6 of these fellas.  They were a pain to make and didn't turn out near as cute as the ones I found on Pinterest.  Thanks to Becky for helping.

Frog, Snail, and puppy dog cookies by Aly B's.

Neil, the grill master cooked up a bunch of "frog burgers" and "puppy dog tail Hotdogs" for dinner.  We had "dog chow" that was really baked beans for the side dish.

The food was great, but the help I had making everything was even better.  Thank you, family and friends!

This is B on his first day.  I hope he didn't scare Mrs. Rose too bad!
Henry's cubby and you can see a little of his mat. He sleeps on a mat on the floor at are 12 months!  They said he did great with it.  Most of the teachers call him "Sir Henry" or "The Prince" or "Prince Henry!"
My cute sign from the Peek A Bootique..you should order one! I love it!

Henry's birthday invitation

This is the favor tag.  Do you notice that it says "THANK for hopping by?"  It was printed like this and then had to be re-printed.  Glad I caught it!

Henry's birthday morning

Henry woke up to a house full of people on his birthday morning.  Well he actually woke up a house full of people but what's the difference?  Anyway, we had all his new toys set up like it was Christmas morning.  I made birthday pancakes and everyone had a good time celebrating our 1 year old!

My mom bought Bennett 2 little monster trucks because she didn't want him to feel left out.  Well, what do you think is in Henry's hand in this picture?  The monster truck!  Bennett saw them and said "awwwww, I've needed these!"

Gammy gave him this water table that has a million parts.  It is going to be tons of fun once we get it put together.

Not sure about this candle

He ended up eating 2 whole pancake!  He has a healthy appetite.
After breakfast, it was time to get busy with all the birthday party details.  I had the best helpers around.  My aunt and cousins even came in town to help.  I love them and am so glad they came.

Happy 1st birthday to Henry!

Here is Henry through his first year:

How is my Henry already a 1 year old?  I just don't understand how fast time can fly!  It seems like yesterday we were welcoming him into the world.  I will say that Henry is a lot more babyish than Bennett was at age 1.  They are two different boys!

What are you up to these days?
  • Size 4 diaper
  • You are wearing sizes 12-18 month clothes.
  • You have never worn shoes.  I think I might need to put some on you soon.
  • You eat pretty much anything we put in front of you.  You want to feed yourself.  If we try to spoon feed you grab the food off the spoon or throw a fit until we let you do it yourself.
  • You LOVE to be held.  Sometimes you cry if you are put down.  You tend to raise your arms up when an adult walks by signaling them to pick you up.
  • We quit the bottle with you cold turkey.  No more bottles after you turn 1 in this house.  I hope we can keep it up.
  • You have your two bottom teeth and 1 eye tooth coming in.  You are going to have 3 teeth soon and might look like a can opener!
  • You are standing on your own more and more.  No steps yet.
  • You received a walker for your birthday and you took off immediately when we set you next to it.  Maybe it won't be long on the walking...I'm not rushing it.
  • Your teeth have been bothering you a lot.  We know you are in pain and there is nothing we can do besides give you Advil every once in a while.  We hope those teeth come quick.
  • You say "mamamamama" it melts my heart!
Henry, you are such a sweet, happy, adorable boy.  You smile all the time.  The sweetest thing I love is when you fall asleep right on my chest.  You love to rock and be snuggled.  I baby you a lot more than I did Bennett and that is probably why you act more babyish!  We love you so much and love watching you grow and thrive.

Days 21-23 of me!

Day 21- A picture of something that makes you happy

I am always happy when our families our all together.

Day 22- What makes you different from everyone else?
Hmmmmm...  I know that I am different from most people in that I usually say what I am thinking and it is not hard to try to guess what is on my mind.  I can't really think of anything else...can you? I just asked Neil and he said "your attention to detail, the way I like to plan parties, the way I turn money to shit, your white teeth, and how you aren't scared to travel anywhere."

I said "wow, wish you would have said that I was loving or something." He said "a lot of people are loving I was trying to think of things that make you different!"

Love it.

Day 23- Something you crave for a lot
Where do I start?  SWEETS!!! LOVE them. Get my drift?
