Bennett's last day of 1st grade!

Bennett grew up so much in 1 school year!  We are so proud of you, Bennett!

Cubs Baseball 2016

This year Bennett's team was the Cubs.  Bennett loves all things sports and his dedication to the sport he is playing pretty amazing.  And not to brag..he is good at everything!  It sure makes me beam with pride to watch my biggest boy do something he loves!

1st baseman!  My boy loves to pay catch.  "Mom, throw me a pop fly! Now a grounder!" He will get anyone that comes to the house to throw the ball with him.

Aloha 1st grade!

Bennett's end of year party was so cute!  It was a luau t say Aloha 1st grade.  Each class brought fruit, goldfish, drinks, and cupcakes for a fun luau snack.  They played games, had a photo booth, and even got tattoos!  I am so glad I got to help out and have fun with my favorite 1st grader.

Since getting into gateway this year, Bennett has LOVED I mean LOVED Ms. Miller.  He talks about her and cheers for her if she is called up on stage.  He was thrilled she came to the party.

Bennett's Awards Assembly

Bennett's awards assembly was great.  Nana and Granddad were able to be there for it!  Bennett was awarded all A's in conduct and  A/B honor roll all year.  Talk about some proud people!  We were beaming with pride!

I did get a little sad for the 3 kids who didn't get anything.  I've never been one of those people who thought everyone should win.  I don't like the idea of participation awards....after all...there's only 1 valedictorian! But, I think I've changed a little bit on that.  I really think they could have given a PE award, art, science, music, or a character award.  It means a lot for a child to be recognized even if it is a non-grades award.  Of course, there will be kids who get multiple awards and that's great!  I just hurt for those 3 who didn't get 1 thing. If this would have been me in elementary school...I wouldn't have gotten 1 award and it wouldn't have felt good.  Hopefully next year we can get some more awards! 

Bennett lost his first tooth!

Bennett has been wishing and hoping he would lose his first tooth in first grade...the last week of school...he did!!  He would always say "I'm never going to lose a tooth!"  His sweet teacher took the time to send this cute picture to me after he lost his tooth. How exciting!

His permanent teeth are coming in behind his 2 bottom teeth so it sort of pushed this one out.  His other bottom tooth is 2 teeth fused together so it will most likely have to be pulled.  We can't do anything easy over here! Like just have teeth fall out normally.  

Rebecca gave Bennett a tooth fairy pillow about 7 years ago!  We are finally using it!

Bennett got $2 from the tooth fairy.  We found $1 each at our sinks the next morning where he had given it to us !  What a sweet hearted boy!We placed it in his piggy bank for save keeping.  

Henry's K-4 graduation

First Day/Last Day

We had Henry's sweet little graduation on his last day.  It wasn't very emotional since he is going to head right back to school next year for the bridging program next year.  It was sweet!  

Since Henry is small, he always seems to be dead center on the front row.  It's a great spot, but with his antics, constant movement, and clothes issues...it's pretty funny!

We got there about 45 minutes before it started and all the pews were taken to about the middle of the sanctuary.  I guess I will have to get there at 6am next year to get a good seat.

Crawfish T-ball

Henry's first t-ball experience was so darn cute!  His team was red so we chose the crawfish. Jeannie made the hats and put all their names on the back of them.  Talk about precious!!!  Henry didn't love fielding the balls...he loved batting though!  T-ball is adorable!
