Henry's 4th birthday!

Who could believe that our baby boy is 4 years old?  Henry has been wanting to be FOUR for as long as I can remember.  He would wake up during K-3 when all of his friends were turning 4 and ask "am I 4 today?"  You are now, big boy!

We went to the doctor and Henry is not on the growth chart!  Last year he didn't make it on the chart, but now he is in the 3rd percentile.  We will have to go in every 6 months to plot his growth.  He was 31 pounds (10th percentile) and 37 inches (3rd percentile)  I just have a little baby boy.

We were excited that Drew got to hang with us all day.  Bennett picked these monster trucks out because there are 2 in the box. :)

He loved his minion fart gun!  He tried to blow his candle with it! :)

We (me and 4 kids) walked Bennett into school for his first day, got 4 shots, and then went to CFA for lunch.  Pops even met us!

The ice cream machine was broken at CFA so we went to Orange Leaf for dessert.
We told Henry about hibachi grill and that ninjas cooked with knives in front of you.  He was pumped!!  Until he saw the fire and then we was ready to go home!

Sweetest boy loved his fireman cake!

Henry was so blessed to have all 4 of his grandparents and Aunt Becky at his birthday dinner.

Gigi's Funeral

Neil's grandmother, Gigi, passed away at the end of July.  The obituary is such a sweet tribute to her great life.  She lived 98 good years and a great family, great memories, and a great legacy.  We will miss Gigi.  I am so glad that my kids got to meet their great-grandmother.  They loved swimming at her house and spending time with her.  When we told the boys that she passed away Bennett said "am I still going to get to swim at her house?"  Henry just went and looked at her picture on the shelf.  :(

Later in the week I overheard Bennett tell Drew "did you know my grandmother died?  She is in heaven."  How sweet.

We had a family dinner at Raw the night before the funeral,

All the sweet boys played on electronics in the back of the church during the visitation.

Here we are at the luncheon after the funeral.  Bennett looked so handsome in his little coat and tie.

Rangers and Legos

We made a quick little trip to Dallas for a Rangers game and to visit Legoland.  We needed to pick up the 4 ft tall Minion pinata that Neil got while he was out in West Texas.  He looked into having it shipped, but it was waaaaaaay too expensive and he couldn't bring it on the plane either.  So, we made a trip to pick it up.  We had a great time hanging with the boys.  We left Sarah Kathryn with Gammy so we could enjoy the trip.  She would not have lasted at the Rangers game!

I picked up Rangers shirts for the boys at Old Navy before we left and I borrowed Amy's Giants shirt.  Neil didn't have time to change before we had to catch the shuttle.   We bought the least expensive tickets and they were great.  The boys had no idea we were in the nosebleeds.  Our bill for food was about double what we paid for tickets.  They ate pretzels, ice cream, cotton candy, hot dogs, and numerous drinks.  It was such a fun time!  And it's crazy how small this world is...we say the Mixon's and Neil talked to a guy from Ruston at the game.  CRAZY!

We got back to the hotel during the 8th inning.  I couldn't believe they lasted until 10pm!

We got up and headed down the hall for breakfast and the Anderson's were there and staying at our hotel.  Small world.  We got everything packed up and headed to Legoland for our 10:15am reservation.  It was a fun, little place.  A couple of the attractions were broken so that was disappointing, but it didn't ruin our fun!

4D movie!  It sprayed snow and rain on us!

Sweet Summertime

We've been soaking up the last few days of summer around here.  But, that also comes with dentist appointments, projects around the house, and other random fun.  This was the first time Henry has actually let the dentist look in his mouth.  Great job, Henry!  He even got his teeth cleaned!

Thanks, Ray!
We got our kitchen cabinets painted white!  Yay!  Now, I just need to get my back splash done.  :)

Birthday parties galore

Neil changed out the medieval hall lights to these sweet drum lights.  He is so handy, he can do anything.

Summer Fun

Summer is such a fun time, but in Louisiana it is incredibly HOT!  We like to spend a lot of time indoors or with water if we are outdoors.  This has been my first summer to work since having kids and it has been a little hard piecing together camps and child care.  Thankfully, Nana and Granddad have come to our rescue and taken a lot of that burden off of us!  When we need childcare...they help!  We sure are glad Granddad is back from his 2 month sailing excursion so he could help Nana!

We saw a couple of movies and invited friends to both.  We saw the Minion movie with Sam and Dawson.  The boys love getting to invited friends.  We took Sarah Kathryn to school so we could enjoy the movies.

Henry and Dawson riding the motorcycle.  Too bad it didn't actually work.
Neil spent a few weeks working and traveling to W. TX Monday-Friday.  We would get up bright and early and get him from the airport.  We tried to eat breakfast at the airport each time, but we only made it once.  The other times, Neil got off the plane and got his bags early!  They loved being able to hang on his suitcase while he pulled it through the airport.
We got to go to the Bull Buteau Foundation Skeet Shoot again this year.  It is such a great cause!
And we won the GRAND prize! We won some sort of 20 gauge or a 12 gauge shot gun.  Can't remember the gauge, but I'm sure that doesn't matter...it is fancy!
We had Drew over to spend this night.  Both boys have gotten to spend the night out for the first time and both stayed at the Raines'.
Since Sarah Kathryn isn't walking and she is over 15 months old, the pediatrician suggested that we look into physical therapy.  We had an appointment at Shriner's and they gave us knee immobilizers.  I think she is totally fine, but they said she has wobbly ankles, low tone, and her hips need to mature.  She hates the things.
Since we love infomercials, we picked up the balloon bonanza and the boys had 10 minutes of fun with the 120 water balloons. How fun!
so fun and it really is as easy as it says.
We took Drew and Jake to see "Inside Out."  People said they didn't think it was appropriate for kids..what?  It was so cute and not sad like I heard it was.

Our summer is almost over.  It's been a great one.  And now let me get depressed as I think that I only have 11 more summers with all of us still together!  wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Beach Loving Babies 2015

Bennett wrote his name on the sand wall and it looked great!  The only sunglasses we had at the beach were SK's heart glasses...Bennett didn't care...he wore them anyway!
Drew  and Henry had lots of fun!  for whatever reason Bennett and Jake went in to the condos and these guys stayed out with the mamas.
This is so sweet!

Sweet B wrote Henry's name, too.

I took her out to the beach alone for a little photo shoot!

Our last night at the beach! :(
