Sarah Kathryn-12 months

Happy 1st birthday, Sarah Kathryn!

Doctor appointment:   Head: 17.25 inches (25th percentile)
Weight: 21 lbs 14 ounces (75th-90th percentile)
Length: 28.75 inches (45th percentile)

Clothes: You wear size 4 diapers.  You are wearing mostly 12-18 month clothes.  I've been putting bows in more and more and you just take them right out.  Ugh!  You look so cute either way.

Eating: You are totally done with bottles.  We gave you your last one the night before your birthday and you've had a cup ever since. (2 days!)  You drink whole milk and eat most anything.  I haven't found anything you won't eat.  You about went crazy over your birthday cupcake.  You were like "what is this deliciousness?"

Sleeping:   You take a good 2 hours nap in the mornings about an hour or 2 after you wake up.  You take a good nap in the morning and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.  You usually go to bed for the night between 7-8.  We put you in your bed and you cry for 20 seconds and go right to sleep.  You sleep all night and are usually up between 6:30-7 every morning.

Likes: being held while standing up...this is a sure fire way to get you to stop crying...we just stand up and you stop, riding in the car, riding in the stroller, eating, the paci, splashing during your baths, your brothers, watching people, smiling, knowing what is going on at all times, clapping, and laughing

Dislikes: seeing me walk out of a room, being alone, and being put in your bed

News this month: You are 1! I just can't believe how fast time as flown.  I've been so happy for you to turn 1, but it is bittersweet.  This is my last, first birthday.  Tear.  Happy birthday, dear Sarah Kathryn.  You are a true joy and have made our family better this past year.  I love you more than words can describe.

Nana and Granddad called to Face time.
There's a smile!

12 months is tough!

It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to!

Father/Son Canoe Trip

Richard, Neil, and Bennett, three generations of Lewis men, enjoyed a fabulous father/son canoe trip to the Buffalo River.  They had so much fun.  I was a little jealous!  Neil said he thought I would have been nervous the whole time.  I probably would have. They canoed, played baseball, played hide and seek, and even jumped off a cliff into the water!  How fun!  I am trying to get Neil to start a trip in Shreveport, but he doesn't want to.  I've already named the trip "Courageous" and everything.  What wonderful memories they made!

Bennett has been looking forward to this trip for months.  He thought they'd be gone at least a month I think.  He told his teacher he was going on an airplane to California! Poor thing didn't know he was just going to Arkansas! He got home from the trip and said "I forgot where my clothes were, because I've been gone so long!"  ha.  He'd been gone 3 nights.

All the boys in their cabin

Jack, Bennett, and George all had matching swimsuits...and they didn't even plan it!

Here are the people in their cabin. I'd list names but I don't know them!

Rangers Game-Suite Style

When the Favrot's invited us to the Ranger's game to sit in the suite...we said YEP!  Thankfully, Rebecca and Gammy handled the duties of the babysitting so we could enjoy ourselves and my first night away from SK ever in her life.  We did great!

Becky looked scared!!! See ya, Becky!  We peeled out with wheels screeching.

Our first stop was The Rustic.  Leone met us for an appetizer and a water.  She is the best and so much fun!

Mommy and Daddy are loving this!

View from the suite is SWEET! :)  (I couldn't resist.)

So glad Leslie let us stay with her and she let me borrow a Rangers tee

Yes!
Jill planned the whole thing down to the food that was in the suite.  It was just so nice to have a private bathroom!
Jill, Kenneth, and Neil. Kenneth and Neil were roomies in Tulsa and have worked together off and on over the past 8 years.

And here we are leaving the suite.

So glad we got to eat breakfast with Leslie before we got on the road.  This is her favorite breakfast spot, Lucky's

Daniel and Amy's Engagement Party!

I am so honored to be a part of Amy's wedding.  I mean I feel so cool because Amy is the most popular person ever and I get to be in her wedding!! what!? Yes.    I love getting to celebrate someone who has been there for every celebration of mine since we were 19!  From my wedding to all 3 births of my children...Amy was there every time.  Now, it's her turn to get to celebrate and I am so glad Neil and I get to be there for her.

Playdates Galore!

We didn't do much during Spring Break, but we did get to play with friends.

We got to see Molly and Madeline in Ruston at a fun playground.  We even enjoyed Eskimoes.

Ella Cate came over with Michelle to play with Sarah Kathryn.  How fun for the girls!

We went to our new Sonic that built a big, fancy playground. It's so nice, but weird that our nicest playground was built by a fast food restaurant! We had fun!

Jennifer invited us for a fun lake play date at her in-laws lake houses. It was glorious! I mean glorious! The weather was beautiful, the property was a dream, and the people were sweet. Just a laid back afternoon and the highlight of our Spring Break!

Chicken and Waffles Bar Easter Meal

Rebecca found the idea and Nana & Granddad executed it!  Chicken and Waffles Bar for Easter.  Yum!  After the kids opened their baskets, we got started on the delicious meal.  Neil and I ran to Zaxby's to pick up the chicken while the grandparents watched the angels. It was nice getting 10 minutes of quiet.

Nana went to the store and bought 10 different toppings and even home made whipped cream.  We all took our turn whipping the cream but after 20 minutes we realized it was half and half!  We got the cream out and it was whipped in no time.  Granddad went and bought a big, fancy 2 sided waffle maker just for the occasion.  How fun!  And what fun grandparents!

Whipping....

Whipping...

Looking good!

I made these lemon cream crumb bars.  They called for old fashioned oats...I only had steel-cut.  not a good choice.
