Saturday Fun with Friends

We had a very busy Saturday with friends.  I was up bright and early making sausage balls for a baby shower brunch I was hosting for Casey.  The shower turned out to be gorgeous!  Ann and Kelsey really outdid themselves with the decorations, food, and flowers.  We did a pink and green theme because it is so cute.  Casey doesn't know if she is having a girl or boy so we just went with fun, frilly, and girly...because Casey is a girl!

I had to get a close-up of the beautiful table scape.  We all know how much I love a table scape.  This was my seat complete with a place-card.

Since Casey loved the idea we did for Erinn's shower for the favor...I tried to mimic it for her.  I just dipped pretzels in green chocolate and tied a bow and a label that said "please pray for Casey and Baby Montgomery the week of ______."

We started out with a fun sparkling cider in the living room while we waited on the guests to arrive.

After a wonderful brunch and fun grandma stories from Ann..we got to have petits fours (mean little oven...thanks to my French speaking brother who taught me that and the correct way to spell it!) and the punch.  Casey opened her gifts while we had dessert.

We had a great time at the shower.  It was such a pretty one!


After Casey's shower, I tried to go to Nikki's shower.  She is having a baby girl the week before me!  I was too late for the shower. :(  Merideth was in town for Nikki's shower so we all got to go to lunch.  I was so glad to get to do this while Bennett napped!

We got home from lunch and got working on house stuff.  Janine and I successfully put all of Henry's clothes in his room and moved all of Bennett's stuff to his big boy room.  It was a job!  I am so glad she was here to help me.  We are just waiting on the drapes with black-out lining before we switch Bennett to his big boy room.  After all the house stuff, Neil and I went to dinner with our friends.  Janine came to spend the night since Richard is on a 17 day sailing trip with his brother.  She was excited to keep him.  Jay planned a fun evening for us at Toyko.   It was a great time, as always.  The only complaint I had was that it was about 1,000 degrees where we were sitting.  This does not make it very comfortable for the 4 pregnant girls at our table!

2nd Semester White Room Challenge Results!

We had our White Room Challenge Big Reveal today.  I had a pretty small Housing and Interior Design class this semester.  I was glad to not have 3 classes making the white rooms.  My students put in a lot of hard work and came up with some great results! Here we have a go-kart track that even went outside the windows and around the back !

And the winner is.....

The Sandwich Shop!  The judges liked the use of space and how they used floor to ceiling.  The also liked how it was not cramped and the faux finish on the back wall.

Way to go to my design teams!  I can't wait to see what next year's group comes up with!

27 weeks and a sick boy.

I cannot believe that I am in my 3rd trimester!  It is amazing how quickly this pregnancy has flown by.  Henry will be here before we know it!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 27 Weeks

Size of baby: 14.4 inches and 2.3 lbs (from i-pregnancy app)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 16 pounds (yuck!  I might not be posting weight gain updates anymore...)

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity...I can still wear some regular shirts.

Gender: A beautiful boy! His name will be Henry William Lewis.

Movement: He is moving more and more every day.

Sleep: I sleep really well except for the bathroom breaks and tailbone pain.  I still feel very tired all day even when I've slept well at night.

What I miss: sleeping on my back

Cravings: Apple Jacks cereal (no milk) & fruit and yogurt parfaits, cold items (fruit and icees)

Symptoms: My tail bone pain has reached an all time high.  It was never this bad with Bennett.  At night it feels like it is going to rip apart.  I really have no way to get relief.  I looked up that cortizone shots may help...don't know if I can get one though!

Best Moment this week: Making it to trimester 3!  

I received a call today that Bennett was sick at day care.  They said that he had thrown up and needed to be picked up.  I ran around school and got someone to cover my last class.  I got to the day care about 20 minutes later and he has just gotten sick again!  Poor baby!  He messed up two changes of clothes and he came home in a child's size scrub top with red knit shorts!




I took him to the doctor and he kept saying "that yucky" and "I need a wipey!"  Poor thing.  He just wanted to wipe his mouth.  We were at the doctor for a nice 1 1/2 hours with not one other person in the waiting room. I will be switching pediatricians tomorrow.  They said it was just a bug and actually gave him some medicine for nausea!

We got home and he was totally acting like his normal self.  He went and changed his clothes...trying on EVERYTHING.  He even put on his shirt!  It might be backwards, but he was so cute I couldn't tell him.



We had a little bit of dinner and about 20 minutes later he said "Mommy hold you"  I knew he was starting to feel bad again because he NEVER wants to be hel.  He said "cover me up my head" and he wanted a "pallow."  Sweet boy.  He was asleep at 6:45.

Swim lessons day 1!

Bennett had his first swim lesson of the summer today. He was the youngest in the class and was totally not into it. Amy doesn't really like to do lessons for kids under 3 and I can see why! We will continue to go for the next 2 weeks. I don't think it helped that it was freezing cold in the water. Amy told Bennett to kick and he said "I don't wanna kick, it cold!"

We took Bennett and Annabella to the movie today! They were so good!

Parents Night Out!

Our church offers a Parents Night Out once a month for only $10 per kid!  It is an awesome deal because Bennett gets to play with friends and eat dinner.  We went to Oyster Bar with the Montgomery's, Raines', and Jarvis'.  It was a fun night of adult time!  Bennett was asking to go night night when we got home!

Sunday School Girls Night!

A bunch of our Sunday School class girls came over for a fun evening of eating and fellowship.  It was a lot of fun just hanging out with no certain agenda.  Everyone brought either a salad, dessert, or appetizer.  I passed out little prayer request cards that each person could fill out that included their name, address, and some of their favorites.  We put them in a jar and everyone drew a name for whom they can pray for over the next month.  I thought it would be fun to have their address to send them an anonymous card or drop off their favorite drink to let them know you are thinking of them.  I thought it would be fun to reveal who was praying for you the next month.  I don't know if anyone will host...but I thought it was fun!  I think it is so important to foster relationships with other girls!
