Massages, Fishing, and Pubs!

On Friday of our trip we separated into girls and guys.  The three girls went and had massages while the boys went fishing on the bay.  The guys were the best sports ever because they even took pictures of each other fishing!  Here are the ones I received via e-mail.

They said they had a lot of fun, but didn't really catch anything.  Apparently the guide was hilarious and really made fun of Trey the whole time.  The guide would say things like "this area sucks" or "do not drop the ice chest lid."  I guess that is a big deal on a boat.  They caught 3 blow-fish and 2 trout. They said it was a wonderful time anyway!

Matthew and the biggest fish caught!

Wow!  That is one HUGE fish.

Way to go, Neil!
We found a great little spa for our massages.  Erinn hasn't had a massage since she was 15 and was a little nervous that she'd be too ticklish...she is a believer now!  So glad she enjoyed it!  We had on no make-up after the massages and still went shopping and to lunch.  I am giving a warning before looking at the next picture of me. Wowzers.

We went to lunch at Poogan's Porch.  It was FABULOUS.  We loved being able to eat on the 2nd story porch of the old house.  A little history on the place is that it used to be a teacher's house and she sometimes haunts the place.  We didn't see her.  Poogan is the dog the place was named after.

One of my favorite meals: Homemade buttermilk biscuits sliders with smoked Gouda and bacon mac and cheese.  I can't quit thinking about this meal.
After lunch, we even had a little time at the pool.  It was so nice to max and relax by the pool without a care in the world.  The boys came and met us and we talked them into eating at Poogan's...they didn't even think it was wonderful!  We were shocked.

We all got cleaned up and went on a pub crawl.  There were 5 pubs on the tour but the girls decided to stop on the 4th.  It was an OK tour.  We determined that the owner/tour guide, a native Charlestonian, is a trust fund baby that decided to come up with a business to keep himself in bars all day.  He did know a lot of Charleston history and had some hilarious comments that I will not include here.

First pub:

Casey and I shared a "Shamrock" because we knew we wouldn't be there long.  It was delicious!

Our favorite pub, The Blind Tiger
The 3rd pub had $1 all over the walls.  Of course, we had to make one.  We represented Shreveport with ours.

And this is where the tour ended for the girls: Molly Darcy's  We just didn't feel like getting up and walking to the next place.  The guys said we wouldn't have liked the last bar anyway.  We sat outside and listened to a band while we waited for the boys to return.  While we were talking our Culinary tour guide from the day before walked up and sat at the table behind us!  We spent 3 hours with him 1 day before and he had absolutely no clue who we were!  He told us about a fun little dessert place called Kaminsky's.  We headed straight there for a delicious Tollhouse cookie pie. WoW...all we did was eat!!!
