Dirt cups

I had a lot of leftover Oreo cookie crumbs and gummy worms from my dads ice cream social. Since Bennett was going to daycare today, I thought I would put them to use! I made little dirt cups. I thought the pudding/Oreo cups were so cute! The kids at day care sort of thought they were weird and didn't eat much! They loved the worms, but were weirded out by the "dirt" look of it.

Bennett ate just a little bit!

33 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 33 Weeks

Size of baby: It is looking like he weighs 3 lb 11 oz right now.  They said that he will be a little on the small side.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained lots.

Maternity Clothes: All maternity bottoms...I still wear a few regular tops because I like tight fitting things over flowy.

Gender: A beautiful boy! His name will be Henry William.

Movement: He is moving more and more every day.  He is head down now.

Sleep: I sleep really well except for the bathroom breaks and tailbone/hip pain.

What I miss: sleeping on my back

Cravings: fruit, ice cream, and cold things

Symptoms: I am still having some pain in my tail-bone and hips and I am really tired.  I just don't feel rested.  I guess this is God's way of preparing me for what is to come.

Best Moment this week: getting baby clothes washed and sorted and getting Henry's baby blanket made by the fabulous Connie Aclin!

Allergic

We woke up on Saturday morning and got all ready to head to the farmer's market.  We were going to take Bennett to the splash park downtown after.  Neil and I were dressed and ready when Bennett finally woke up.  Our plans changed when we woke up with a swollen face and feet and had a little rash on his body.  We opted for the doctor!  We switched doctors this week and already went on Monday.  Bennett had a runny nose and gunky eyes so she put him on Amoxicillin.  We headed to the doctor on Saturday morning to have him checked out.  The worst part was that he would not walk.  He kept saying "my feets hurt!"  If we tried to put him down, he would go to his knees.  Poor thing!

Saturday morning
We kept Bennett in the bed with us on Saturday night because we wanted to be able to hear if his breathing changed or anything like that.  Well, he woke up Sunday morning looking 1,000 times worse.  Almost unrecognizable!

My sweet boy's face was so swollen

This was his back on Sunday morning.  This is what his entire body looked like.  It reminded me of this time when he had the same thing.

We headed back to the doctor on Sunday morning to get another look.  The doctor came in and immediately told us that it was a drug rash.  I could tell that he felt bad about telling us it was bug bites the day before.  He was very compassionate and even let Bennett play with his stethoscope and "flashlight."  He decided to give Bennett a shot of celestone. I was so glad to hear this because our last doctor never did one thing about his week long rash. They never even had a name for it or could tell us what it was. We now know that he is allergic to omnicef and penicillin.  We will not be taking any chances with those antibiotics!

Bennett was feeling like himself and looking so much better right before bed on Sunday!  I am so glad!

just a few splotches!

big muscles!
Our new doctor even had the nurse call us this morning to check on Bennett.  It was such a nice surprise to have such a caring doctor!

Cancer-Free Ice Cream Social

Since we got the wonderful news that my dad is cancer-free, I have been planning a little gathering to celebrate.  If there would be any reason for a party...I think this is it!  I wanted to do something easy and I did not want to make an entire meal.  I thought...ice cream!  It turned out to be really cute and so easy.  I rented a soft-serve ice cream machine that came with ice cream, cups, cones, and spoons.  I just had to have the toppings.  Thanks to Amy, Erinn, and Mom for letting me borrow your glassware.  Thanks to Carol and Leslie for letting me use the fabric, too  It really helped!

Cute little sundae cookies

Topping table!  I did not iron the sheet used for table cloth...no time for that!

Soft serve vanilla ice cream..I would recommend this to anyone needing ice cream.

I was so glad that Carolyn came over to help.  She chopped strawberries and bananas.

Since my dad's favorite thing to eat/drink when we started eating again was root-beer floats..I thought we needed a "float station."  Erinn let me borrow her cute coke box..thanks!

Cute boys eating ice cream.  Mason, Bennett, and Cal

Thanks to Matthew for letting me take an action shot of the ice cream machine in use!

Don (Dad's cousin) and Ann came all the way over from Flint, TX for the party.

Yum!  Root Beer Float!

Me, Aunt Carolyn, and Mom

Aunt Carolyn and Courtney came all the way over from Houston for the party.  It was such a treat to have them over even if it was for a short time.  It meant a lot to me and Dad.  And they were so helpful in setting up the toppings!

Dad and "Aunt Marilyn"  I put this on here for Merideth!!

We were so glad that Jennifer and Caroline stopped by.  Caroline is such a cutie and will be 1 next month.

We had a great time celebrating!  I hope we never have to go through cancer again with anyone ever!

Bennett-isms

Bennett came up to me on 6/15/11 and said "I love you, Mommy" without being prompted.  It was the sweetest thing and I love how he just said it without me saying it first.  I will never forget it!

Bennett likes to ask "What you doing?"  We can be driving and just wants to know.  I say "driving."  He asks all the time no matter what we are doing.

A couple days ago I took him to the doctor for a few things.  I was talking to our new pediatrician about him.  When we got home later Bennett said "a bug bite my weenie, I need a band-aid!"  ha!  This is true, however we did not use the band-aid approach.

Another weenie story: Bennett was in the bathroom with me and said "Where's yours weenie?"  I had to let him know that those are just for boys.  No more baths with Mommy!

He always uses the word "yours" instead of "your."  I think it is adorable.  For instance "I want to share yours pillow."

When I say "What is the magic word?"  Bennett will say "please magic word _______ (insert whatever he wants)"  Example: he wants candy: "Please magic word candy?"  If he really wants something he will say "please magic word mickey mouse" or "meeska mouska mickey mouse"  because Mickey always says  "say the magic words!"

Bennett has been saying "haha doodie bear."  We have no idea where he got this.  It is hilarious, but we don't know where he got it!

32 weeks... AKA 8 months!

I know I say this every month, but I cannot believe I am 8 months along!  Time has really flown by with this pregnancy.  We had our last big ultrasound today and we took Bennett.  He was a pretty good boy as long as he had Neil's phone and could watch "Doo-ago" (Diego).  He liked seeing Henry on the screen and said "awwwwww" and even "yucky" a couple times.  I guess it was a little weird to see Mommy up on the table covered in goop.  Right when I got up on the table, he said "hold you mommy!"  Such a sweetie.  Neil was a trooper and kept him occupied while we all tried to see Henry.  Henry did not really want to cooperate today with letting us see his face.  We did get a great shot of his ear and hand though.

Best Moment this week: hearing his heartbeat and seeing his little body move today.  There is nothing like it!

We even got to go on a date night!  The club I sponsored at school gave me a gift  certificate to Superior's Steakhouse.  It was fab!
Here are a few of his pictures from today:
Still a boy!
This surprised us...she said that this is hair!  Bennett never had hair until he was 2!
You can see his ear and hand in this picture.

Welcome to the World, Evelyn Nicole!

We had the privilege of meeting Miss Evie today.  She is just a doll, but gave us all a big scare.  We were all sitting at In the Zone playing and talking about our plans for the next day.  Little did we know that Evie would be making her debut today!  Casey had a doctor's appointment for a check-up and they ended up doing an emergency c-section.  Thank the Lord that she had an appointment!  We are thrilled for the Montgomerys!!  I can't believe that Mason has a baby sister already.

Cute little thing!  She looks just like big brother!  Love the mohawk!

Mason meeting his sister for the first time.

A Montgomery family photo.  So sweet!

They did not know if they were having a girl or a boy.  Erinn and I got to be there to see her grandmother and aunt find out that she was a girl.  It was such a sweet moment and we were both in tears.  We are apparently not good at keeping our emotions under control in situations like that!  Congratulations to the Montgomerys!!

Circus Circus!

Dad had the great idea to take us all to the circus on Saturday.  We had such a fun time!  After reading Water for Elephants and seeing the movie...it was fun to make references to it.  There was actually a blonde that reminded me a lot of Marlena (a character in the book).  I loved seeing Bennett's reactions to all of the acts.  His favorite was the motor cycle tight rope and the motor cycles in the big ball.  A couple of things scared him, though.  He got nervous when people were up really high and would do things that looked like they might fall.  He did not love that.  All in all it was a fun day at the circus!

Bennett, Pops, and Carolyn

yippee!  Almost time for the circus!

My boys were excited!

In order to protect the performers both human and animal, no flash photography was allowed.    My pictures are not that great!

We had no idea until Saturday morning that the Montgomerys were going...they were even in our section.  These boys loved their $10 sno-cones.

mmmmm!  And sno-cone juice came out of his clothes!

Fun horses!
