Seeing Your Marriage Through the Eyes of God

We got up this morning around 7 to get ready for the marriage simulcast. Gammy (my mom) got here at 7:45 and the baby was still asleep when we left! We thought that it was about right that he slept when we had to be up early!

The "Seeing Your Marriage Through the Eyes of God" simulcast was so great. There were 5 really great speakers and Jeremy Camp lead the worship portion. He is really good...I have heard him on K-LOVE but not in a worship setting. I really enjoyed him. 2 of the speakers really stuck out to me. The first was of course, Beth Moore. She always says things that really hit home. She talked about letting the good be good. We always want everything to be great even when it's good in our marriages. I will have to say that I feel like we are friends (Leslie knows what I mean!) because I knew about most of the things she was talking about! She referred to a lot of stories about her family that are often written on her blog. She talked about being the "Bride of Christ." It was something I needed to hear and I'm glad I did. The second of the speakers that I enjoyed was Gary Thomas. After his lesson, I was like "wow!" He says that we should become a God-centered spouse and to seek first the kingdom of God. He also said that we should have the "heart to" instead of the "have to" regarding our spouses.

I so enjoyed mine and Neil's time together today. It was great to spend a day with my hubby. Bennett had a wonderful day with his Gammy! This is what we had waiting on us when we got home:

Can you tell we were excited to see him?

I love Neil in this new sweater of his...he looks so handsome! :) He calls it his "krueger" sweater.

So this is what 9 hours of sleep feel like.

Let me start off with a big I FEEL GOOD this morning!

OK, now that's out of the way. We went to eat at a friend's house last night and I was a little worried about Bennett's schedule. It turned out to be OK because he was such a sweet boy at their house. When we got in the car to come home at 9pm he fell right to sleep and did not wake up until 7:40 this morning!!! Praise the Lord! It was truly an answer to prayer.

Even though Bennett slept the whole night...I have to say that I still wake up randomly and wonder if he is alright. SIDS is a constant worry for me. I just have to keep telling myself not to be a paranoid Mom!

I am going to get a lot of things done today! We are getting our bathtub fixed this morning and I am going to have to go to the grocery store even though we are trying our new frugal routine.(This is me experimenting with the whole 'insert link thing!') Let me know how it works.

Neil and I are going to attend the "Seeing your Marriage Through the Eyes of God" simulcast tomorrow at our church. I am really looking forward to this! Beth Moore is one of the speakers so it should be fabulous.

Frugal Gourmet

In an attempt to save money and not help boost the economy, we have decided to eat everything in our freezer and cabinets before we go back to the grocery store or go out to eat. Neil and I discussed this over a fab lunch at Giuseppe's on Friday. I realized that we waste so much food after organizing my cabinets on Saturday and found about 7 pounds of 2 year old powdered sugar. So, last night we had taco salads..tonight we had soft tacos. Lots to eat:

Looks like we have a long way to go.

With our new routine in place, it's a good thing that we had a Junior League meeting 2 weeks ago. I bought 4 new JL cookbooks from places like: Tulsa, Chicago, Jackson, MS, and Covington. I am trying to go through them and make recipes that we have all the ingredients. Last night I made "Fool's Toffee." Talk about easy. It tastes pretty good too. Here is a picture.

We did very well with our new thing until today when I had to go to Brookshires and get milk, cheese, and Weight Watchers ice cream bars.

Hello Blog World!

Well, this is my first blog post and I am oh so excited. I have been debating on whether or not to start a blog. After reading and enjoying some famous blogs like, LPM, TCM, Bigmama, Boomama, and The Daily Sweatpants...I thought I needed to join the Blog World too!

Anyway, I am a 27 year old new mommy to the sweetest baby boy ever! Bennett is the greatest blessing that Neil and I have received as a married couple. I think it is so amazing that we didn't even ask for him and the Lord blessed us with him anyway. I guess He knew that we needed him! Neil is my sweet hubby and we have been together since 2003. We were engaged in October of 2006 and married in May of 2007.
As for my blog...I am so new to this and really have no idea what I am doing. I still have questions like:

What is a Mr. Linky?
What does it mean to be a follower and who can see that??
How do you type a word and then have it go to a certain link?
How do I get a cute font for my posts?

and many more...

So, the baby turned 10 weeks old yesterday (tear) and I thought I would share a few pictures of my little love bug. OK, how do I put the picture where I want it instead of at the top of the blog? Anyone know? The first picture is of Bennett's first ever Valentine's Day. I think he loved his Baby Einstein DVD and Snuggle Puppy book. The next is of his first day of daycare (that is a post all its own!) and the last is of me with Bennett at Gymboree class.
