Father/Son Canoe Trip

I love this tradition of fathers and sons going on a canoe trip each year.  The boys love it and they look forward to it all year.  Neil gets to planning his cabins and group months in advance.   He is like the Founder from Shreveport.  The Founder in Ruston organizes the whole thing and Neil just handles the Shreveport crew.

Nana does all of the grocery shopping for all 25 people.  It makes it so easy on these dads!

From what I understand it's a bunch of smelly boys and dads who may or may not brush their teeth and/or take showers.

Lots of baseball is played while not on the river!

We were so thankful that Uncle Daniel was able to go on the trip!  The boys loved having him!

Sweet boys!

All of the Fairfield boys!

This looks so fun for these boys!

Sarah Kathryn is 5!

We got to celebrate our girl in style!  Her birthday fell on Easter Monday so we didn't have school.  We started our morning at the hotel with breakfast and candles!

We met some friends at Chuck E. Cheese for fun and cupcakes!

We also went to the library for the Children's area, scavenger hunt (SK's favorite)!

We met Gammy at Pizza Rev for a fun dinner.  Sister loves pizza!

Happy Birthday, Sarah Kathryn! We love you big!

We had a baseball game to head to after dinner and she just goes with the flow!

We got to celebrate her at chapel the next when we returned to school.  She loves being the leader at chapel!

SK and James!

She got an American Girl doll for her birthday! Her name is Tenny Grant!

And I have to leave her birthday post with one of the first moments I met my girl!

Family Easter

We were thrilled to go over to Ruston for Easter.  It meant time out of the hotel and it was lovely!  My ornaments that Neil gave me for my birthday came in right before we left and I just had to show them off!  I LOVE THEM!

We began our day with a Tech baseball game which was so nice.  The weather was gorgeous!  We did have an eager fan right next to us that had a comment about every. single. play. but we persevered!

We were able to run out to Lewis Lake for a little fishing and exploring!

We got back to Nana and Granddad's for egg dyeing and hunting!  We really made the most of all things Easter!

They had to find eggs that spelled out HAPPY EASTER

Looks like some $2 bills were added to some of the eggs!

Nana boiled a bunch of eggs and we got to dyeing in the carport.

Even Andrew got in on the action!

The Easter Bunny Came!

Doll pjs and matching for SK!
After opening our baskets-we headed to church at First Baptist with Rebecca, Daniel, and Lillian!  They had multiple photo opps, a donut wall, and a great Easter message!

The girls had matching Easter dresses thanks to Nana and Granddad

We put a couple candles in the Easter cake to celebrate SK's birthday with the family.  Her birthday is tomorrow!
