Fall break Fun!

We had a fun fall break this year.  I am thankful that my days off usually coincide with all of their Monday and Friday holidays.  We started off our weekend with the FBCS fall carnival.  We love that carnival...it is really the best!  Bennett was excited to see his school friend, Logan there.  Logan's step sister goes to FBCS.  Thanks to Dianne for giving us armbands...the kids had a blast!

We didn't do much of anything on Friday.  We stayed home, went grocery shopping, and then stayed home some more.  Sometimes it's nice to sit at home.  

On Monday I was going to be lazy again, but decided to take the boys to the corn maze.  I am so glad we went!  We had to stop by the store for Bennett's meds and then we headed out.

We had to drop sister off at school because I didn't think I could maneuver the stroller through the maze.  I was right.

Tech Scout day

We've been so excited about the cub scout camp out at the Tech game.  We planned to go months before and then the rain hit.  The scout pack sold 52 tickets and only 10 came!  Thankfully, Steve gave us his Skye Box tickets so we stayed dry and had all the food we wanted! 

The boys got to go out on the field at the beginning of the game and were supposed to get to do the pledge on the field.  It rained so much that they didn't get to do the pledge. 

The scouts got to go out on the field for 1/2 time, see some players, and make 2 lines for the players to run through.  They loved getting their hands slapped as they ran past.

Brew 2015

We were excited to be servers of the fabulous beer of Red River Brewing Co.  We brought our selfie stick for some fun photos.  It was a great time, fabulous weather, and good mingling!  Even though I don't drink beer, I can't wait for next year! :)

Baton Rouge Wedding Weekend

Neil and I had been looking forward to Robbie and Angelina's wedding weekend for months!  We were so excited for an adult weekend away for the stress of 3 kids!  We love our babies, but we were in desperate need of a break.  Thanks so much to Nana, Granddad, and Gammy for taking care of everyone for us!  We needed it!

We planned to leave earlier than we did, but of course, Henry was diagnosed with strep so we have to drive him to Ruston before we could head to Baton Rouge.



I thought it this pin was fitting for me.  It was in Nana's car so I proudly wore it all weekend.  Not really, but I wanted to.

Bulldogs vs. ULL

Fall weather, family,  and football are the recipe for a great day in my opinion.  That is just what we had at the Tech vs. ULL game.  So glad that Amy and Daniel joined us!  I am also excited that Richard and Janine got to have fancy, box seats that we got to use to see the place!  Wow! Tech has really stepped up its game.  

We walked around and tailgated for a couple hours with Amy, Daniel, and the boys.  Nana and Granddad kept Sarah Kathryn so we could enjoy the boys and the fun tailgating.  We stumbled upon a TKE reunion tailgate and about 5 of our neighbors were there.   Amy and I stalked some Sigma Kappa's to get their fancy "Sigma Kappa love the bulldogs" stickers.  It was so fun!

We borrowed the fancy passes and went to the new, end zone seats.  Free food, cushioned seats, and fun.  I don't think I would want to sit there long because it was a little too quiet! :)

Allergies, Cyclic Vomiting, and PT Oh, my!

It's official!  Our days of just normal, healthy kids who never go to the doctor are over.  Sigh.  I am exaggerating, but we need a break from co-pays and RX bills!  I am literally shocked that in the last 2 weeks we have discovered that Bennett is allergic to ants and wasp...so bad that we have to keep Epipens with us at all times and at school.  Henry had cyclic vomiting syndrome and Sarah Kathryn is still not walking at over 17 months old.  We've had a couple of stressful weeks.



I am most worried about Bennett.  I had no idea that these insect allergies were such a big deal.  



Bennett's hand from 2 ant bites...I just thought he needed a little Benadryl so that's what we did.


The next week he was stung by a wasp and his arm just kept getting bigger and bigger.  We went to Henry's soccer game and saw Sarah who suggested that we look into Epipens.  I couldn't believe it!  So, on our way home from soccer we took a detour to the pediatrician's office and she confirmed that both were allergic reactions.  She gave us prescriptions for a steroid, 4 Epipens, and OTC Benadryl to keep at school.  You have to have a Rx in order to take OTC meds to school.  She said we needed the Epipens because the reactions can get worse and worse.  The next time his airways could be constricted...you just never know.  Scary.

Henry has had 3 different episodes over the last couple months where he just vomits a few times, lies around, and then is better soon after.  I have treated it like a bug each time, keeping him out of school, but no one else ever gets sick.  The last time I took him in and she diagnosed him with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome.  Is this even a real thing?  Apparently it is.  It is just awful to watch him feel so bad.  The last time he threw up in our bed and I had everything off to wash and he said "why didn't you make your bed today?" Oh, Henry!!!

Missed his first day of school!

Our big girl started PT this week!  She is over 17 months old and is not walking.  We need you to walk, Sarah Kathryn! I feel that if we would have started therapy at 15 months when we went to see about it, she would be walking by now.  Can't live in the past.  So, I think this sweet girl will be walking before we know it!
