Father's Day Feast

We had a really nice Father's Day this year.  I decided that it would be fun to have everyone over for one big meal rather than trying to get to 10 different houses before the day was over.  I think it went very well and can't wait to do it next year.  Leslie gave me the great idea of doing taco salads.  It turned out to be wonderful, because everyone was able to put whatever they wanted on it and leave off what they didn't want.  Easy Peasy.  I made Leslie's Salsa and Amanda's Queso.  I also made this fabulous punch! They were bot huge hits!

We needed 12 taco bowls for everyone to have one.  I sent Neil to the aisle to get the taco shells.  He came back with 2 boxes and I said "how many per box?"  He said 6.  So, we get to lunch and I am opening the shells and there are only 4 per box!  It said "four  6" bowls."  Thanks so much to my mom for rescuing us and picking up another box!

My sweet boy eating his quesadilla.

The tablescape was lime green, black, and white.  Nothing too fancy.  I used a lime and cut a slit in it for the place card.

I made Key Lime Pound cakes for everyone.  It is a Southern Living recipe, but I first saw it  here on Stephanie's blog.

Neil got a little Yeti for Father's Day.  He was so surprised!  I love when he is actually surprised.  He said that the ice chest can keep ice for 2 weeks!

Can you tell who is the center of attention?

I was so glad that Rebecca brought Matt!  He helped me so much by chopping the lettuce & tomatoes and browning the meat!  Thanks Matty!

Henry's Luncheon

Leslie, Carol, Erinn, and Casey were so sweet and hosted a little luncheon for me. It was so detail-oriented and just the cutest thing ever. Leslie and I are really in to tablescapes and this one could no be beat! Each table had burlap with white muslin on it. They scattered buttons on each table with wonderful green plants. Each person got to take home a little plant that said "Please pray for Henry William Lewis." I just loved it!

The most adorable wreath ever.

The cutest favor ever!

Casey was an excellent hostess!

They even wrapped the napkins with fabric, raffia, and rosemary. The menu was excellent: a Trio of salads!

I wish this picture would have turned out better...cute little petits fours. Henry's initials are on them!

I am so glad that Merideth brought Molly!

I was able to wear a dress that I wore to my engagement party luau back in 2007. I am glad it worked as a maternity dress.

Dallas in a day

We got up bright and early and headed to Dallas today.  Dad bought a new car and got a way better deal on it in Dallas than any place would give him in Shreveport.  My dad has always wanted to get a nice car and I am so glad that he is treating himself after basically going through hell and back.  He has felt like crap and never complained.  So glad he did this for himself!

Dad, B, and me

On our way home, we stopped in Tyler at Holly Tree to meet Don and Ann.  Don is my dad's cousin and they are pretty close.  They invited us for dinner.  I was excited to eat with them, but Bennett was a Holy Terror.  He was so good the entire day with being confined for close to 7 hours in a car seat and another couple in a stroller.  He was ready to play when we arrived in Tyler.  We were there for maybe 1 hour and he had 2 dirty diapers, threw a baby wipe across the table onto Ann's plate, and blew bubbles in his milk that went every where.  We were ready to go home after this nonsense!

Fun stuff!

Our friends, Chris and Nancy Beck sent us the sweetest gift for our hospital door! Nancy has the cutest baby store in Alexandria, LA called Expectations. The door hanger came from there! We love it! Thanks y'all!

SS girls night

We had a great time at our Sunday school girls night!  Casey hosted us for a fun evening of food and fellowship.  We got to find out the person that had been praying for us, too!  My person was Erinn.  She was the one that left the Reese's on my front door step.  She even had a little gift for me to "reveal" herself!"  It was so much fun!!  We drew names again and will find out in July when Molly hosts us.  Yippee for fun girly things!

I was so excited about my sweet tea!  It is one of my favorite drinks!

Fun chit chatting!
The food does NOT disappoint.  I made these awesome cupcakes.
