Confiscated.

In case you didn't know...teaching comes with way more "extra blessings" than you would ever be able to imagine. I had no idea of all the fun things teachers get to do until I was one. One thing would have to be confiscating all manner of beauty products, brushes, combs, etc. This is just one of the many things they don't tell you about. I took some advice from another teacher and just started taking them up and throwing them away. I was giving them back to the students after class, but they still brought them back.

Look what I got in one day! All of these items were taken from boys!

Need a new brush anyone?

New Toy?

Bennett has found something new that he just loves to play with! The toilet! The other day I flushed the toilet and he came crawling right over to here what it was. He stood up and put his hand right in.

I was getting dressed for work a couple mornings ago and I heard some splashing around and this is what I found! Of course I had to run and get my camera.

He also likes to flush. He can't really pull it all the way down yet, but I am pretty sure it's coming!

This is right after I took him away from the toilet. He is so sweet. He was clapping!

The Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch!

We went to the pumpkin patch after church on Sunday afternoon. Bennett (I) was so excited to go see the pumpkins! When we arrived, they told us that we were the first customers and the pumpkins had only been off the truck for 20 minutes! He looked so cute in his little Fall outfit too.

Bennett pulled up on the pumpkins and would stand next to them. I think he really enjoyed it.

This is my favorite! He is so precious! I put this one on our Fall card.

Look at that cute little pumpkin!

Here is a family shot at the pumpkin patch.

Mason, Bennett, and Georgia had a lot of fun in the wagon. There was a lot to discover in there!

We tried to get a picture of the kids all sitting with pumpkins, but Bennett wanted to take Mason's and Georgia wanted to play with her shoe. Oh well! I think it is a cute picture!

We ended up having a fun time at the pumpkin patch. I am so glad we get to do all these fun things with our baby boy!

Bitten

Bennett was bitten for the first time at daycare last week. There were even teeth marks and an incident report to prove it. We aren't mad or upset because we understand that this happens to all kids who are in group child care.

Here's the incident report. It really is funny what they have to write. It said "Bennett and another child were playing with a toy house and the other child bit Bennett." Then it said "Applied Ice!" I just thought that was hilarious that they applied ice!

The incident report also said that "The mark is in between middle and fore finger." Even though it was in between his middle and ring finger.

He didn't seem to be upset at all when he got home. I just wanted to be able to record this!!

It was also picture day..that must be why he wasn't smiling in his picture proofs!!! Here he is right after I got him dressed for picture day. He loves his shoes!

Anyone have a chainsaw?

We came home from work last week and this is what we found in our back yard.

Our tree has been dead and we knew something like this would probably happen. We are so thankful for the way it fell! It could have fallen the other way and knocked all of the power out. It could have broken farther down and hit our house.

I'm not sure but I think this is where it broke off. You can look at it and tell that it's pretty rotten.

So, do you have a chainsaw so that we can take care of this mess?

10 Adorable Months!

I cannot believe our adorable sweet baby boy is 10 months old today! Our lives have changed so much in the last 10 months because this sweet baby joined our family:
We have had so much fun being Bennett's parents. Our lives are blessed more and more everyday when he does something new or just smiles at us!

Bennett, here is what you are up to these days:
  • You have 4 visible teeth and 1 more making it's way in on top
  • You rarely eat baby food anymore. You have just decided that you would rather have grown-up food.
  • You eat the breakfast and lunch at daycare. I made sure to cross all of the dairy, berries, and citrus fruits off their meal calendar so that you don't get anything you may be allergic to.
  • You wear a size 4 diaper.
  • You talk so much. You say Mamamama (It sounds like "My Mama!") I love it everytime you say it. You are saying Dadadadada too! Daddy loves it!
  • You love to "help" me with the dishes. When I have the dishwasher open, you always come over and pull up on it.
  • You can stand on your own but not for very long. We think you might be walking soon.
  • You are starting to wear shoes. Pops is going to take you to Toy Fair to get your first pair of walking shoes next week.
  • Most clothes that you wear are between 9-12 months.
  • We try everyday to get you to drink out of your sippy cup. It is not your favorite but we will be working on it! Only 2 more months on the bottle!
  • You are Mr. Popular. You have parties to attend every weekend. (One year olds keep you busy!)
  • You love Arthur....even when he licks your face. You smile and laugh!
Mommy and Daddy are honored to be your parents!!! Only 2 months until you are 1!

Revel

On Wednesday, Nana and Grand-Machine came and picked up Bennett from daycare to stay with them over night! He had a great time but I missed him so much. Neil and I worked at the Red River Revel while he was away. Neil worked at Clark's booth. He was selling fish tacos and brisket eggrolls...all home made. His booth was a hit! I worked at a Revel Pepsi booth for Junior League and sold a total of about 30 Pepsi's in a 4 hour time slot. The weather was so nice so it really didn't matter that we weren't busy.

Here is Neil taking orders at the Chandler Catering booth.

This guy was so awesome! He was on stilts and had this dragon thing that it looked like he was riding. He could even maneuver the head part to pick up things. I know this because he picked up my camera case!

We ended up having a nice night home alone. We missed Bennett, but know he was in good hands. We came home from the Revel and graded papers and went to bed. Very romantic!
