Winter Fun

So glad we were able to have our January birthday dinner at El Cabo Verde

January birthday girls!

Beauty Queen was being really quiet in the cart at Target.  I looked up and she had been using my lipstick!

Henry took his Kindergarten test.  We find out 2 months later if he got in to Fairfield.  We bribed him with a trip to Chuck E Cheese if he tired his best.  I am nervous.  It will just make life so much easier if we can be at 2 schools instead of 3!

Henry loved it!

Pops came by to play.

Yay!

Bennett and Henry were wrestling because that is what they do 24/7. We didn't know anything was wrong until he crawled to our bedroom the next morning.  Things went a little too far and a little bone in his foot was broken.  He was put in a boot for 4 weeks!

Sweet boy.

Thanks for the cute dolly and personalized jammies, Red Truck Designs!

Henry used this scooter as a little wheelchair.

Mudbugs game!

Rocking his boot!

January Random

Birthday lunch with Erinn and Ashleigh

Starbucks date with my biggest boy before school one day.

Henry was Zacchaeus.  We went to chapel with Henry one day and it just happened to be the day that he was asked to be Zacchaeus.  He was excited to be Zacchaeus, the wee little man.  As I was watching this scene unfold I was brought to tears.  All of the tall children were asked to come to the front so that Zacchaeus couldn't see over them.  Henry was so proud to be Zacchaeus so of course I didn't say anything!  It was hard to watch my small guy barely be able to see over a child younger than him especially since we are being seen for short stature by a pediatric endocrinologist.  I called Amy after and she was outraged! ha!

Amy said you should specifically select a smaller child for a bigger person part just like you wouldn't want to choose a black child to play the part of a slave.  I guess you live and learn.

He climbed up in a sycamore tree to see what he could see!

He was so proud when "Jesus" called him down from that tree!

Pinewood Derby

Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby was pretty non-eventful this year.  Neil and Bennett made his car into the shape of a wooden spoon.  It wasn't a winner and Bennett really wasn't into it.  Henry got to race Bennett's card from last year and it came in dead last every time.  We are good at a lot of things, but card building ain't one of them.

Adding the melted lead to the car

Super Dad right there!

Watching their cars come down the track

3rd place!

Carter, SK, and Henry

Henry was TICKED that his car kept losing!

SK and Carter (Ellison's brother) are both 2 and love seeing each other at school events.

She drags him around every place they see each other.

:(

They both got participation ribbons.  One was happy and one was not.

Kyzer, Ellison, and Kade all came over to play for the afternoon!

Muffins with Mom

We started a new DADS Club at school this year.  DADS stands for Directing Awesome and Dedicated Students because we never wanted kids without dads to feel left out.  We wanted to reinforce the importance of men on campus and the success has been outstanding!

Neil stepped up to the plate and organized the entire event with the help of a couple other guys.  He left the house before 6am to get everything ready for all the moms!  They had photo opportunities, entertainment by the Strings department, and even decorations by the art classes.  What a wonderful event!  We had a great turn-out and I was so proud to be there!  Dad came to the house to keep Henry and SK so I could go enjoy one on one time with Bennett.

Love this!

Look at this TOP DAD!

Thanks, Neil and James, for a wonderful morning!

Amy took this one!

Lindsey is 35!

I had such a great birthday this year!  I felt so special, had so many calls/texts/social media messages and had fun!  Neil and I went to 2Johns for dinner.  We celebrated with family at Grub and with friends at Don Juanz....all my favorites!

2Johns!

See how great this picture is?  It's because it was taken with my new camera that Neil, Janine, and Richard gave me!  How lovely!  Sarah Kathryn kicked my camera on the floor at Henry's Christmas program so it was ruined and I was so sad!

My friend, Merideth owns Sign Gypsies in Ruston and delivered these signs to Amy and Amy set them up!  I was SO SURPRISED to see this when we left the house that morning!  It is so much fun!!!
Henry had his follow-up at the Pediatric Endocrinologist where we learned that he will need a 3 hour IV test for his growth hormone.  AHHHHHH!  And also, all the kids were out of school for MLK day!  Happy birthday, Mommy!
Thanks to Amy for planning my Don Juanz birthday lunch!

Leslie was so sweet to provide Nothing Bundt Cakes for my celebration! It was so sweet! Rebecca picked them up and brought them to the party.

Family pic!  Neil happened to be in town and met us.  He took all the kids to the other patio so we could have a quiet, girly lunch! :)

So cute!!

My childhood friend, Sarah posted these pictures she saved of me!  hahaha!  Love them!
