Henry goes to Bridging!

One of our best decisions was to hold Henry back for another year of pre-school.  After only a week of Bridging I can already tell this has been the best thing for him!  We are so proud of our Henry and how much he has already learned.  (Yes, I am 2 weeks late on this post!)

Henry still wants to be a fireman!
He is so proud to be a rainbow friend!
Mrs. R is Henry's teacher this year!  Yay!
Henry is happy to NOT be the youngest kid in his class.  He is thrilled to be in the "BIG" boy class this year.  His class is the oldest at the school.

Interview with a 5 Year Old: Henry

I thought it would be fun to interview Henry at age 5.  I've wanted to do this before, but never got around to it.  Henry is our spunky, spirited, sensitive, and playful boy.  The best way to describe Henry is he LOVES TO PLAY!  He could play with toys uninterrupted for hours.  I love that he can entertain himself and be happy doing it.  He is also good at playing with others.  He gets along great with Bennett and gets along great with SK if it is ONLY 2 of them.  If the 3rd is in the mix..no way Jose'.

Henry does not enjoy cleaning up his gigantic playing messes.  He will always fake an injury or say he is sick when it's time to clean-up.  We love his funny personality!  Henry is super smart always asking questions and wanting to learn.  He could really care less about writing.  Maybe he will be more interested in it once school starts.  He LOVES books and being read to.

Here are a few questions I asked Henry today:

How old are you? 5

What is your favorite color? blue

What is your favorite animal? shark

What is your favorite food? broccoli

What is your favorite fruit? apples

What is your favorite candy? M&Ms

Who is your best friend? Jake

What is your favorite thing to do? play

Where do you go to school? St. Paul's

What is your favorite thing about church? Sunday School

What is your favorite thing about school? Toys

What makes a person nice? hug

What do you want to be when you grow up? Fireman

What does a fireman do? put out fires, help people and be strong

What is your favorite place to go? Kid City

What are you really good at? putting on stuff

Great Wolf Lodge

Henry has been asking for 4 solid months if he could go to Great Wolf Lodge for his birthday.  He didn't want a party...only GWL!  He would talk about his party at GWL and all that he was going to do before we ever even thought we would go.  He was so persistent and pretty much just KNEW he would go.

We knew we needed to make the trip happen when one day Bennett said "y'all can take all the money in my piggy bank to take Henry to GWL."  How sweet and selfless of our big boy! So, we planned the quick trip.  We made up a sheet of pictures of GWL and Henry unwrapped it.  He was so excited!

We drove over Saturday morning, arrived at Rainforest Cafe at 11:45 and had a fun lunch.

This is how sister felt about the animals at GWL

They came out and sang to Henry.  He didn't love it.

He did LOVE this cupcake!

our precious 3.

Next, we headed straight to GWL!  You are able to go to the water park beginning at 1pm the day of check-in. We were excited that our room was ready at 1 so we were able to unload and get changed in our room.  We didn't take a camera or phone to the park the first day.  Too much to keep up with!

Cute wolf ears.  Henry got a special birthday one!
After about 2 hours, they were done with the water.  They wanted to do all the other fun stuff. Thankfully, Rebecca gave Henry a Pup Pass so that he could do some other fun things.  It included the arcade, build-a-bear, cub club, candy, and a sweet glitter tattoo.  Neil stayed in the room and tried to get SK down for a nap.  She wasn't having it!

arcade fun!

Henry chose a pillowcase to color.

Bennett chose a t-shirt at Cub Club.

So fun!

Henry chose a dragon at the build-a-bear,

Bennett chose a wolf.

We went back to the room to get Neil and SK for dinner.  We went to the magic show in the lobby and grabbed a pizza.  We ate and then got changed for another round of water fun!  Bedtime came easy for the boys, but not so much for SK.  She screamed until about 1 am for no reason.  We were so glad that we were ext to a stairwell on one side so we didn't wake our neighbors!

Up and at 'em on Sunday morning!  We ate breakfast and enjoyed our last couple of hours at the waterpark.  It was so much fun!

Checkers in the lobby with my biggest boy!

Henry and SK loved the jet ski water squirters

Henry was a pro at these slides (the only slides he could do.)

She is so sweet!

Lazy river was SK's favorite.  She would just sit on the tube with me and cruise.

We saw Curtis from Tech there!

Finally! We got a family pic!

We saw Violet on our way out!

Don't worry...we didn't forget our tatts!  They only last  ONE WEEK!

It is so fun making memories as a family of 5.  It's fun to do our own thing!

Bennett goes to 2nd grade!

I just can't believe Bennett is in BIG 2nd grade!  How on earth is my first born baby boy in 2nd grade?  He is excited and he said "10% nervous."  Gone are the cute pottery barn kids backpacks and lunch boxes and here are the Texas Rangers backpack and Saints lunchbox.  He is happy!

We are excited about Mrs. G!

Bennett's first year to be in class with his buddy, Logan!

Back to School breakfast

We had our back to school breakfast the day before school started this year.  It is just too much to try to fit in on the actual first day of school. The kids love waking up to a fun table with a good breakfast and presents!  Their presents are usually books about whatever grade they are going into and a workbook or coloring book.  FUN!  Bennett also got a new Texas Ranger t-shirt!
I've been using this same tablescape for 3 years!

Sister loves her new book!

yay!  Fairy book!

Family Heirloom

Janine and Richard were going through Gigi's house and came across a ring.  They were so sweet to have it cleaned up and had a diamond added for Sarah Kathryn!  She will get it for her senior ring!  I love family history!  I have a ring that was my great-grandmothers for my senior ring and I still wear it.
so pretty!  It has 2 sapphires the sides.

She already loves it!
