Louisiana Livin'

We've been doing lots of Louisiana livin' and picture takin'!
Sister took my new Urban Decay eye shadow and put on her own make-up.  Weird this was that she was sitting right next to me and I never noticed!

Henry woke up with hives one random morning.

Sweet Maddie and Amelie donated their old trike to SK!  How cute!  I love that my friends are done having kids and give us all their girly stuff!

Henry got to be the leader on wacky Wednesday!

Shortly after the hives he got strep...makes me think scarlet fever??

Sweet golfing brothers

Beau and Leigh cookie a fun Valentine's meal for our small group.  How fun!

Catherine invited Ella and me to the AHA heart luncheon.  What fun!

We hosted a dinner along with the Couvs, Earnests, and Favrots for a SPDS fundraiser.  Here are our chefs!

Centaur Parade

Mardi Gras is so much fun!  Who doesn't love a reason to cook outside, use port-a-potties, and see parades?  We had the best weather this year for all of our local parades.

Thankfully, we have friends who live on the parade route!  Talk about convenient!  They invited us over so we went there for a couple hours before walking down the street to Mrs. White's and the Jackson's.  What fun with friends!

Truck bed jail=I can relax

Sarah Kathryn kept walking around and then would sit down on the curb and point to the curb for Neil to sit down.  She would then lean her head on his shoulder!  She did this about 15 times!  She loves her daddy!

This is a dedicated bead catcher right here.

Our First Pinewood Derby

The boys worked hard and pulled off 2 cars for the Pinewood Derby.  Sadly, neither of our cars were winners, but we had fun!  It is a serious business at Pinewood Derby.  The rules are nuts!  I couldn't believe there were 2 pages of rules for a wooden block with wheels.  You can't have liquid lubricants or certain types of weights.  Once your car is officially weighed in you are not allowed to touch it again.  I just didn't realize how serious it was!

Each car raced 3 times (1 time per lane) and the fastest 3 went on to the finals of their grade.  Bennett got fastest in 1 heat, but that wasn't enough to qualify him.  Henry didn't win any of the rounds. :(  Since Henry's wasn't really competing "officially" his was sort of an afterthought.  Neil ended up taping keys and quarters to it to add weight.  He was proud so it didn't matter!

Nana, Granddad, and Gammy all came to see the cars race.  How sweet of them!

Heat 1!

Heat 2!

Heat 3!

Winner!!

Henry and his competitors!
Our boys walked away with participant ribbons and we headed to Another Broken Egg for a delicious brunch with Nana and Granddad.

Awww Yeah!

So proud!

Centaur Float Loading

This was our 3rd year to attend the Centaur float loading party. It never disappoints.  It is so much fun to get right up close to the floats and take in all the hard work that goes into making them look great.  Now that we built a float I will never take for granted how a float looks at a parade!  It is a massive undertaking!

Bennett needed his picture next to the football player.

Since we know the Batman float people...they let us all get on the float!  They even gave us the special Batman bead and inflatable batman toys. We were spoiled!

Happy 34th to me!

I had a very wonderful birthday this year.  My fabulous job celebrated me with lunch and cookie cake a couple days before my birthdday.  Neil made birthday pancakes, I got my hair done, had a birthday lunch, went to a football birthday party with Bennett, and then had a family dinner at Frank's. Talk about blessed!!!  I felt so special and loved!  Thank you family and friends for celebrating me!

Neil was so sweet to make sprinkle pancakes for me!

Amy was so sweet to plan a fun birthday lunch for Jenny and me.  Our birthdays are January 16th (me) and January 17th (Jenny).  It was so much fun!  Amy planned the whole thing, decorated and even had a game. My sweet friends, Leone and Leslie paid for the cupcakes for the whole event.  What thoughtful friends!!
