Life Around Here

Bennett was invited for a little impromptu birthday fun at Party Central for John's birthday.  He had so much fun!  When I picked him up Henry got to play, too.

Pops got a new puppy named Ginger Snap.  Henry calls her Gingerbread.  She is so sweet and Bennett is just in love.  He asks every day if we can invite Ginger over.

Henry had cowboy day at school.  He looked so darn cute in that vest from Mexico that our old next door neighbors gave Bennett 6 years ago.
When you have brothers...your bath toys are trucks and diggers.  I need to get her some girly bath toys!

Snow day #3!

We just knew we would wake up to a winter wonderland, but sadly, we did not.  I checked the weather and the radar showed that lots was coming.  They were right!  About 9 am we had actual snow falling from the sky!  It was beautiful!!  It fell for about 2 hours and then just stopped.  And now it is already melting away...only 4 hours later.  I just can't get over how pretty it is seeing our trees covered in snow and the pure delight in the eyes of my boys!  What a sight!

This is Louisiana???

Sure tastes good!  Those trash can lids were our sleds, but they didn't quite work.

Our pan collecting snow for snow ice cream.  Haven't made it yet.

This is the only hat I had! ha!  Sun hat or snow hat?  Worked great to cover my head and neck!

more snow angels

Bennett died laughing when I tried to catch him and missed!

He even fell over!

Yay!  A real snow man!

Ice Day #2

We got to stay home again from school and work on Tuesday for another ice day.  The roads were pretty bad this morning and would have made it pretty dangerous for going to school and work.  People think it's dumb to close school for this long, but I think it is smart.  The folks in charge can't put 10,000 kids on buses all over town on icy roads. I get it.  More fun for Mommy and the kids.  Neil stayed home to work today.   We left and went to play with Drew, Jake, Reid, and Dean for a few hours so he could work.

It seems that we've been cooking/baking for 3 days straight!  I love it!  Today we made home-made pop-tarts.  The boys decorated them with icing and sprinkles.

My heart is full!! And my forehead is wrinkled...#botox  #please

Ice Day #1

We couldn't believe that we got a snow day...much less 3!  The weather was cold, but no real snow came the first day.  We had more sleet and ice.  Drew and Jake came over for breakfast and lunch and then the roads started getting bad.  They went home and Daddy came home from work to avoid icy roads.   SK went down for a nap so we bundled up and went outside to enjoy the ice!

Here it was starting to come down.  They were in awe!

We made snowflake cookies that looked more like flowers.

The boys made mini biscuit pizzas for lunch.

It's snowing!!! (really it was ice but they don't need to know that!)

First things first,.. snow angel!

Bennett said "Let's throw the snow up in the air and say 'SNOWDAY!"

Getting the mail and here comes Daddy!

They got Daddy right when he got out of the car

Redneck gloves: ziploc baggies and emijays!
