Happy Birthday, Andrew!

We had a tiny birthday celebration for Andrew on Thursday.  He just wanted us to cook and to have a laid-back birthday party.  We can deliver that!

After school, Bennett and I went to Family Dollar for some birthday shopping and to Brookshire's for some cake buying.  Bennett got to pick out EVERYTHING!  Andrew was so excited when he walked in and saw his goodies!

Andrew loved all the things that Bennett picked out!

The fly swatters were his absolute favorite!

Bennett chose a Batman cookie cake.  Andrew's favorite drink is Arnold Palmer so we got him a gallon.

Happy 27th, Andrew!!!

Church Nursery Cuties

I was working in the nursery building passing out flyers for our new women's events when I walked passed the nursery and saw these two cuties eating a snack!  Luckily I had my camera to snap one of these babies!

January Birthday Celebration

There are 4 of us (me, Leigh, Cole, and Jared) with January birthdays and the spouses love to plan a celebration for us.  This year was no different.  Beau planned fajitas at their house for our celebration.  They even had a cake made that said "Happy January Birthday!"

We are thrilled that Jared and Beau's brewery is just a couple of months away from opening.  Jared brought bottles with the new, fancy labels on them!  yay!  This is so fun!

We did a self-timer photo of the whole group.

31

Well I turned 31 on January 16th and I am just now getting around to posting.  The main reason is because I am so busy in the evenings typing PowerPoint presentations for my 3 subjects I have this semester.  I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it is.  So, back to blogging!

I felt really special and really old this birthday.  I guess that's what happens when you are almost 40.  I started my day off with dressing my boys in their birthday clothes and going to school to celebrate with 80 students.

Bennett and Neil went shopping for the perfect gifts for me...the contents are below

Casey made me feel extra special and shipped this personalized cup to me!

One of my students brought me a gift!  It was a candle.  How sweet!

Neil brought lunch to me and ate with me in my classroom.  He even brought flowers!!

Amy met me at the nail place to tell me happy birthday.

Rebecca surprised me with Buttercups at school.

We were so thankful that my dad wanted to take us to Mabry House for my birthday.  Before we went to the restaurant I had to stop at an Academic Foundation meeting for school from 6-7.  I was late to my dinner, but it was fine because Janine said that people should wait on me because I am the birthday girl! :)

Since we were all out of school and work the next day for MLK day, Neil's parents stayed with us.  We were so glad because the boys love waking up with them here.  The best part was that after the boys went to bed, Nana rubbed our feet.  She could get a job as a foot masseuse.  It is soooooo awesome!

Outdoors and S'mores

We decided to take the family for a little outdoors fun at the camp.  It was a fun Saturday afternoon for a 4-wheeler ride and s'mores.

We took a little ride on the 4 wheeler around the woods with the boys.  I do make them wear helmets while riding and Neil thinks it is the most ridiculous thing.  We rode through trails and looked at all the deer stands.  We saw deer tracks and even rode in the mud.  One puddle was so deep that my shoes and socks were soaked!  It's OK because Andrew had a pair of dirty crocs at the camp that I wore while mine dried. It wasn't even dark and we made a fire and roasted s'mores.  It was just a spur of the moment day of fun with my little family.  I am looking forward to make more days like this with my wild men!

Henry is 17 months old!

What are you up to these days?
  • You wear a size 4 diaper during the day and a size 4 night diaper at night
  • You wear a size 18 month clothes and a size 4 shoe
  • You have 2 1/2 molars and they look so painful.  You have 2 1/2 teeth on the bottom and 4 on top

  • You love to play with toys, balls, and cars.  You favorite is the animal puzzle.
  • You love wearing anything monogrammed!  Personalized outfits are your favorite or mommy's favorite...I can never tell.

  • You are saying a few words like mama, daddy, baby, ball, NO, nose, hi, night, night, and some others
  • You sign "more" and "eat."  You LOVE to eat and even say "mmmmmmm" when eating.
  • You LOVE playing with Bennett.  He is the coolest person ever to you.
  • You don't really enjoy TV.
  • The only way you will listen to a book being read is if you are locked in your high chair.

  • You like to push trucks and say "vroom."

  • You have so many nicknames!  I mainly call you "H-Beautiful."  I just can't help myself.  It is the perfect nickname for you.  The other day I was pushing you in your stroller and you had on a green and white longall with a football on it and a lady said "SHE is so adorable!"  I said "he is a boy and most people think he is a girl because he is so beautiful!"
  • Some other nicknames for you are: Hen, Henny, Hen-Chicken (lame), Hentindo, Hennessy, and H-Beauty.

  • You are a great helper.  You will help clean up if asked.  The other day at church they asked you to clean up and you put the toy right on the shelf.  Such a sweetie!!
