Houston Weekend

We got into Houston at about 10 pm on Friday night. It was late and we were so tired! Our family was waiting for us with a bonfire!

Cal is so sweet. He loves Bennett and Bennett loves him. Bennett is wearing his Lemm Acres shirt.

We got up on Saturday to host a bridal shower for Carrie. We are so excited that she and Baehr are getting married! We love Baehr are excited for him to be a part of our family. Look at all those gifts!

Here are Gammy, Bennett, and Grauntie.

Here are the French girls and Bennett. Courtney, the bride (Carrie), Me, Mom, and Aunt Carolyn (MOB).

Baehr came over after to the shower to help load up the gifts.
Here are the future Baehrs! Carrie was always called Care-Bear or Carrie Bear and now it will be her legal name! Carrie Baehr! So cool!

Here is the cake. Megan just got a sweet white cake and I put roses on top of it. I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Carrie and Baehr got a lot of nice things. His family all went in and got them their whole bedroom set...comforter, pillows, sheets..the whole shebang!

We went shopping with Aunt Carolyn before making our way back home. She is re-decorating her living area and we were looking for a chair. I don't think we found the perfect one yet. Houston has anything and everything you could ask for...I need to shop there more often!

Certificate, Fruit, and Chick-fil-A!

We had a pretty eventful week. Neil went to Lafayette about 6 months ago for a class and a test to be a Registered Professional Landman. Well, Neil got the official certificate this week! Yay! We are so proud of you!

I was so excited when the office asked me to come to the office between classes. "Bennett" sent me an edible arrangement! For people that know me well, they know I LOVE these things and have always wanted one. I think they are so cute and a tasty alternative to flowers. Anyway, I go to the bottom of who really sent it to me...Rebecca! Rebecca (my SIL) is one of the most thoughtful people I know! Thanks SIL..I felt so special!

Thursday was Captain Shreve night at Chick-fil-A. All of us moms took our babies to Chick-fil-A for dinner. We had a fun time with all the kids. Here we are:
Toby/Rhys, Erinn/Georgia, Me/Bennett, Casey/Mason, and Erin/Maddie

This Weekend.

Starting on Friday at school I did a lesson on STD's for my 3 Adult Responsibilities classes. Mrs. White gave me the lesson and the idea. I am always excited for the students to be up and doing hand's on activities. Anyway, it was about the "Honeymoon Bed!" When I told Neil about it, he thought it sounded like a law suit, but the kids really understood the concept.

It started out with a blanket on the floor in the middle of the room. I had all the chairs around so the students would be able to watch. The blanket represents the "honeymoon bed."

The lesson is about John and Maria and their sex partners and how diseases are spread through so many people. It is gross as one student said, but the point was made. Sometimes you have to "act" it out to show the concept! I passed out name tags to everyone and read a story. As I read the story and called out each name, that person had to take their seat on the "honeymoon bed." Pretty soon, the bed starts to look like this:
At the end, we discussed what the honeymooning couple should do and how they would bring up the conversation to their partner. The last point is "How crowded do you want your honeymoon bed?" I think it turned out great!

On Saturday, we got up and had breakfast with Gammy at Strawns. After, that we came home and got ready to go to Ruston for the TECH's first home game. I do love my Alma mater, but wish we had more school spirit!

Right when we got into town, we went to the TECH bookstore to get some TECH shirts for our little family. I wanted to take Bennett to the Lady of the Mist but we didn't have the time. So, we just got a little family picture in front of Wyly Tower. This was Bennett's first visit to the TECH campus.

After, Janine and I went down to Lewis Boutique so that I could look at the new dresses. They have some really cute stuff! I got 2 new fall dresses, 2 necklaces, a shirt, and a Vera Bradley lunch box for school. I felt like a student walking in to school with my brown paper lunch sack.

When we got home Grand-Machine and Bennett were all ready in their Tech gear.

We got to the tailgating area and it was so nice. I haven't been back to a game in a long time and they have this huge Alumni pavilion with flat screen TV's. It was really nice to see how much Tech has grown.

Neil and Richard went to the game and we came home and had a girls night plus Bennett. Rebecca ordered a bunch of food from 102 A Bistro for our dinner. We had tons left over. I am even going to have the baked potato soup for lunch tomorrow in the TL (teachers lounge).

After we ate, Aunt Rebecca read "What Aunt's Do Best" to Bennett. It was so sweet. Rebecca helped me to get my grades entered. It was so nice to have someone call out the names and scores while I entered them! Thanks Aunt Becky!

We got home today and were just in time for the Saints kick-off. We really dropped the ball today because we were supposed to bring breakfast to Sunday School this morning. A BIG thanks to the Buteaus for helping us out on that one!

#100 Post!!!!! and 9 month old boy!

I was trying to think of something really good for my 100th post like a really interesting story, or a giveaway or something. But, I don't have good story or anything to giveaway except for some stuff in my "for garage sale" box. So I will just begin with our little 9 MONTH OLD!

Can you believe Bennett is 9 months old?? I can't either. I wanted to post on his actual 9 month birthday, but he didn't go to the doctor to get checked out until this week. Here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs. 13 oz. (15th percentile)
Length: 27 inches (15th percentile)
Head: 18 inches (90th percentile) (must be really smart!...big head...big brain)

He is doing so well. The doctor said that he just a normal little boy. What are you doing these days?

-You love to eat puffs, cheerios, and other things you can pick up and put in your mouth.

-You wear a size 3 diaper, but will be moving to a size 4 on the next pack.

-You love to play. You never want to be held unless you want to get out of your bed to get down to play. You love to be on the go at all times. I wish you were more cuddly, but I know that will come with time.

-You eat oatmeal for breakfast, a veggie/meat mixture for lunch, and a veggie and fruit for dinner.

-You still love your bottle and drink 3-6oz bottles a day.

-You are saying MAMAMAMAMA. It is the sweetest sound I have ever heard. I don't think you know that I am Mama, but I can hope!

-You mumble Dadadada sometimes too.

- You have to be the best baby I have ever met. We tell you this all the time. You are the sweetest, cutest boy of all. Mommy and Daddy love you very much!

Stuff that's been going on around here

We went over to Catherine and Green's house for Catherine's surprise birthday party. They have totally remodeled their back yard and it is fabulous! She was so surprised that everyone came in town for her birthday. Bill, Missy, and Jack cam in from Little Rock and The Temples came in from Houston.

Here are Cameron, Bennett, and Emily playing in the pool.
This is their totally re-done place. They had a waterfall put in the woods and it looks like it is falling out of the woods. They also had a hot tub put in and changed the color of the pool.
Happy Birthday Catherine!
Bennett has a blast playing in the tube. He loves to crawl through things.

Bennett is now climbing on EVERYTHING! He is getting so BIG I can't believe it!

On Sunday, we went to church and then to Superior for Grandparent's Day lunch. These are some proud grandparents! I think we really need an Aunts/Uncles Day. Seriously. Bennett's Aunt and Uncles are the best!

On Wednesday night, we had our monthly Supper Club. It was a lot of fun this time at the Black's house. The Demoles hosted with them. They has a Luau theme and served kabobs. Yummy! They even had enough so that we could take some for lunch the next day to the TL.

In order to get this picture...

You have to look at this! It is always so funny to see what we parents do to get our kids to look a camera!

Here is a picture of all the girls with the babies. Left-Right Top Row:
Julie and Brooks, Lindsay, Megan and Jake, Erinn and Georgia, Me, Bennett, & Mason. Bottom L-R: Jenny and Keegan, Teresa, and Mira, Erin and Maddie. We missed Casey! Mason's mom hurt her back so she wasn't able to make it.

Bennett is so tech savvy. He loves to Skype with Nana and Grand-Machine. Here they are talking and playing pee-pie!

Bennett loved trying some berries. I don't really even know if he is supposed to have berries this young. He seemed to like them. They were EVERYWHERE! All over his head, the floor, everywhere!

Dad's 60th Birthday Party

We had a 60th birthday party for my dad on Friday. It started out as a surprise until my dad planned a big hunting trip for his birthday. I had to tell him about the party about a month ago. Anyway, we had a great turn-out with hardly any left-overs. Clark Chandler of Chandler Catering made us some smoked chicken that was fall off the bone good. People were taking ziploc bags of it home. Check out Clark's booth at the Revel this year. They will have brisket eggrolls and fish tacos! Yummy!

Anyway, I took over 50 pictures at the party, but here are the highlights.
